We just had an example of form/matter following the archetype - The Secret Service scandal. Initially 11 agents were cited because one guy refused to pay the harlot $47 (I don't doubt that other stuff was going on that we dont know about). Besides reducing to 11, here is a meaning of the number:

"According to R. Allendy, this number represents "the evolution, 7, continuing in the eternal mechanism of the world, 40, by a personal effort and a fight - 4+7 = 11; 1+1 = 2".

Forty seven is considered as being the number of the Law."

So the secret service (mystery babylon) refused to pay the harlot (redeem its Karma) and thus transgressed the law (of duality).

"The Harlot of Revelation

Other dreams, coincidences, and inspirations came, that seemed to solidify this theory concerning the midpoint of the chakras. Like other parts of this story, the way the ideas came is somewhat difficult to explain clearly, especially in a brief way. For now, I will simply list a few of the ideas, without telling the entire story of how they came to me.

The harlot of Babylon in Revelation 17 seems to be major in St. John's vision. I contemplated the possible meanings, keeping various dreams in mind.

The harlot seems to represent the energy of our time cycle, which appears to be quite negative, yet it is a learning experience. My dreams indicated that Goddess figures correspond symbolically to an electrical generator supplying power to the "motor" of physical reality and mankind. Another idea is that creation can be symbolised by a string instrument, such as the fiddle or guitar. The Goddess-like "body" of the instrument supplies the strumming power, while we, in the projected physical reality, do the "tuning" at the tip. In this sense, we are co-creators of the reality, yet the strumming source also has its effect.

Various dreams seemed to link marriage, sex, or the like, to a duality bond, that is, the male aspect has a corresponding female aspect. The two aspects seem related in this way:

Male - left brain, rational-analytical thought, daytime, waking consciousness, earth plane, projecting outward or radiating. Acting upon. The sun or a star. A square or cube.

Female - right brain, dreaming-intuitive inspirational thought, nighttime, sleeping-unconscious, dream-spirit plane, contracting inward, or receiving, Being acted upon. The moon or Venus. A circle or sphere.

Feminine figures are often associated with spiders and weaving. One sense of this seems to be "weaving" our fates. The implication is that events in our life are planned in the dream realm, and have much more control than we normally suspect.

In Revelation 17, the kings of the earth "fornicate" with the harlot, become drunk on her wine, and give over their "royal power" to the beast. She is "seated upon many waters," that are "peoples and multitudes and nations and tongues." (Rev 17:15). The wine produces an anger or fury. This seems to indicate that the "generated" influence of our duality bond with the harlot instills in us a consciousness of anger, leading to violence and war.

Some Biblical verses speak of fornicating with the daughters of the harlot. The sense of this, I felt, was that the "daughter" is the "harlot" feminine aspect within us during the karmic time cycle.

In Joseph Campbell's book, he calls our cycle of time a "warring" cycle. It started, he suggests, some 4,320 years ago, when, for the first time, a large nation attacked another. This was Sargon I of Akkad, which is now modern Iraq. It was also ancient Babylon, of course, which seems significant, as the harlot of Revelation is of Babylon. Other verses speak of Babylon being divided into three parts, and being thrown down by violence.

The symbolism of Babylon seems related to divisions among people. Our word, "babel" came from the story of the Tower of Babel, where the people started to speak many different languages. It could also indicate, possibly, divisions between realms or dimensions of reality, or divisions of the self. There are many indications that the future will bring a "unity." This unity may involve these same areas.

A key part of the "harlot" symbolism is related to the idea that one "pays" for the "fornication." I had a very spiritual dream that involved my very large family washing clothes. At one point in the dream, I was relieved to remember that I had a charge card with me, and I could use it to help find my family again, and return home with them. In thinking about the dream, I realized that when we use a charge card, we create a debt that must be paid later. I felt that this symbolised karma, which was a concept I had difficulty believing. But, I found similar symbolism in my other dreams and in the dreams of others. I also found that the Bible uses the metaphor of money or valuables many times, to indicate the "judgment" one can expect."
