Its interesting that Prometheus was freed from the rock by Heracles performing his eleventh task, stealing the golden apples from the Garden of the Hesperides. (a derivative of the word Hesperus) The apples were reputed to convey immortality on whoever ate one.

In Greek mythology, Hesperus (Greek Ἓσπερος Hesperos) is the Evening Star, the planet Venus in the evening. He is the son of the dawn goddess Eos (Roman Aurora) and is the brother of Eosphorus (also called Phosphorus, and Lucifer), the Morning Star.

Apples, especially golden apples, are also related to the orbital dynamics between Earth and Venus, the formation of the pentagram.

The Hesperides, derived from Venus' evening phase (brother of Lucifer of the morning) were 3 nymphs that tended/guarded the garden. It was situated in "the far western corner" of the world. Atlas Mountains were the general vicinity thought to be the location.
