Seriously. There is a place in town where the railroad tracks form a straight line to the Arch. It is probably 15-20 miles from it and looks just like it goes through it. An amazing vista. I know where it is and will take a picture now that I've been reminded of it. I have only seen it maybe ten times in my life and it has always taken my breath away.

You know what's funny, some people like to say that the reson the sky is so brilliant with colors durring sunsets is because of the toxins we put into the air but I've seem paintings from early settlers of sunsets overlooking the horizon of st.louis from the top on Monks mound and the sunsets looked just as vibrant w/ all the same colors , purple & blue & orange & pink. I lived in an apartment that was about 300 feet away from the banks of the Mississippi that would have been in the same horizon that I've seen in paintings from Cahokia Illinois , which would be the same sunset I was looking at!

......by the way , I'd love to know the spot your speaking of

Big Bend :) Either Kirkwood or Webster. Haven't been there for awhile and hope it is still there. Just a crossing in the road. Almost drove out there today but went to Busch's Wildlife instead.

Hmmm....I live right next to big bend but not the part your speaking of. My sister manages a restraunt at a railroad intersection in kirkwood but I don't think that's big bend ? Do you know the place I mean , there are lots of shops and they sell pumpkins near the intersection of the train tracks ? I would like to know exactly where it is though.

It's not in a built up area. You probably wouldn't give it a second thought unless you glanced down the tracks. Thinking more Kirkwood I'll know it when I find it and let you know.
