Why did Pope John Paul II visit St. Louis in 1999? Of all the cities, why St. Louis? Was it because of his relationship with the then Archbishop Rigali?
Quoting: STL420 [ link to www.andrewcusack.com] St. Francis de Sales is well worth visiting for the architecture. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21414916 St.francis De Sales is an interesting piece of arcititure indeed. I will post a few pics of it. It's actually the church the my parents were married in and the church that I was baptized at. I went to kindergarged there as well. It's right in the middle of a very sketchy neighborhood. It just a few blocks away from a very interesting neighborhood named Benton Park, this neighborhood is notorious for having homes which have assess to caves in the basements. There was an access point to a very large underground cavern in a nearby park that was Supposudly covered up some years back. But there are an all full lot of underground caverns around that church. wikipidia - "St. Francis de Sales Church (the Oratory of Saint Francis de Sales) is a Roman Catholic Oratory located on the South Side of St. Louis, Missouri. It is the second largest church in the Archdiocese of St. Louis after the cathedral-basilica. The church is popularly known as the "Cathedral of South St. Louis." here are some cool pictures of St.Farancis De Sales [ link to en.wikipedia.org] [ link to www.gatewaygeotechnical.com] [ link to thedasslereffect.wordpress.com]
