Another ash explosion with plume rising up to 3 km occurred at 12:10 local time today, December 11, 2012 followed by a smaller one at 12:41 and 13:16 local time on active Indonesian volcano Lokon.

The first explosion was relatively violent and produced a plume rising approx. 3000 m visible from Manado city 15 km to the north and the explosion sound caused people in nearby Tomohon to run out on the streets.
