It really doesn't matter what side you choose, you will get a corrupt individual in office. Again, this is why I hate sides because it consolidates values into two pockets when we should be viewing far more angles. Categories/Sides/Parties blind the common people into thinking they NEED to choose a side when instead they need to focus on the individuals themselves. I rarely see a democratic sympathizer choosing the side of republican even if the republican is a far better choice and the same goes for republican sympathizers.

See, that is the problem. You are lumping ideals into party members. Not every party member wants the EXACT SAME THINGS. There are quite a number of republicans that are pro choice and quite a number of Democrats that are pro gun. Stamping ideals on these parties then lumps pro-lifers in with pro-gun and pro-choicers in with anti-gun. See? these two are only but a couple examples that are possible. We need to focus on INDIVIDUAL MOTIVES and not PARTY STAMPED IDEALS.

Republicans in congress are told how to vote by their leadership. same is true of democrats, but republicans tend to want things like SOPA and the patriot act and curbs to abortion and cuts to social security in much larger numbers than do democrats. they also vote together on these issues much more strongly than do democrats.
