Whether or not you use/trust eBay for silver purchases doesn't matter. That is not what this thread is about.
What I'm noticing on eBay is that prices for 1oz bars and Eagles still demand a large premium over spot about 30% which is about the same as Sprott.
Common date Morgan and Peace dollars continue to stay about the same as they have been over the last few months. But it appears to me that the quality of coins is much less than that of equal price just 2 months ago. I would say around mid November I started noticing that the volume of listings has dropped for common coins as has the quality. Common date coins seem to have much more damage but are demanding the same price compared to what they would have previously.
Basically it seems there is a much larger gap between low quality and high quality collectible.
As for the reduction in listings, I'm actually surprised at the difference. Previously a decent common coin would reach end of auction in about 15-30 minutes. Now it seems to be 30 min - 1+ hours.
I would be interested in reading what others are seeing.
