People with kids. Who doesn't let their kids watch these stupid cartoons?

I don't let my kid watching TV and cartoons except for the ones I choose for her. Actually I gave away my TV more than one year ago to other people and we don't watch TV at all. I am looking for news on internet and watch the movies and cartoons we want. This is a big progress because in this way we are selective and I am not allowing all the stupid advertising and manipulative information, besides the violence from movies or cartoons to invade us.

That doesn't mean I don't prepare my child of 7 years old for the real world. I talk to her much about many things, it's just that I think it's better to give her a constructive education and make her being able to choose and select the sources of good information.

Oh no I agree with you there. I am not sheltering my kids, trust me. I tell my son about all the evils of the world, he is even sex educated at the age of 9. I just truly believe that these cartoons on TV are making kids just stupid.

I highly advise probably avoiding every children's show that they have on PBS. it's way darker than one is led to think.

You're making the right choice. I saw Spongebob a few times, and not only was it very stupid, it seemed to be pushing some agenda. Difficult to say what it was though, none of it made much sense. Patrick is definitely gay though.

The more you try to stop your child from doing certian things, the more he is going to want to do them.

I bet he LOVES going to friends houses and watching all the shows you forbid him to watch at home.

I agree. Kids come up with the darnedest social conclusions from a cartoon at very young ages. Kids are way more smart than we really let on. Its imperative that the adults who make the cartoons don't insult their intelligence. It's one thing to be wacky/silly, but it's another when the "morals", or "messages" of the stories are insipid.

I never told my kids what they could and couldn't watch. But, I would watch it with them. If it was something not appropriate, I would talk throughout the entire program, pointing out every little stupid or inappropriate thing. Jabber, jabber, jabber...it normally only took a few minutes before they got up and went and found something more constructive to do. LOL!

The thing is, if you totally forbid it, they will just go to a friend's house to watch.

Talking to her about things isn't enough (although its great). I was raised in a strict fundamentalist Christian home with no TV for the most of my childhood. While I was mainly raised in the late 80s and early 90s I can't tell you anything hardly about the era. I pretty much knew nothing about the. culture of the world at that time until years later.

Why not allow TV but supervise?

Good for you!! There doesn't seem to be a SINGLE children's movie/cartoon out there that is free of symbolism or illuminati agenda themes. Just look at who are the main movie producers: Disney? DreamWorks? Is there another company apart from those two?. I'm not much in contact with movies for children, but heck if it comes from Disney you can bet they are trying to indoctrinate and lobotomize your children.

I don't like the rubbish they put out for kids either. We listen to the radio in the day, and will put on tv in the evening for something specific, ie film, comedy etc.

My kids all have their own tv in bedrooms, so they can watch what they want. I never stop them, but I have found that kids are far more discerning than they are given credit for!

They love music and conversation. Put on the radio, music etc.
make it a family thing. Sit and talk, play, that is what children want. It's more fun than sorting out tv induced naughtiness!!!

If rainbows and skittles, mechanic skills, fun and games, underwater creatures and jokes, cooking; if that is bad for your kid, you are the worst parent in the world. NO ADVENTURE TIME! ITS EVIL. Learn to stop controlling your kids ideas and thoughts before they end up watching their tv their whole life and never get anywhere in life. A paragraph by a 13 yr. old that watches cartoons.

I don't have tv in my home. It's probably why my 5 and 7 year olds read and write better than most adults. And my 7 year old can almost write code.

I'm with you. I let my kids watch Magic School Bus, Liberty's Kids, Martha Speaks...pretty much, those PBS cartoons that have some redeeming quality about them so at the very least they are learning a little by osmosis. I find lots of entertainment downright stupid, and I can't even stomach watching movies anymore because they just make me feel like I've wasted my time.

I let my 6 yr. old watch Nick Jr., they normally had the global warming crap, but nothing major...UNTIL this past week. During "family" month, they showed 2 dudes hugging. Had to draw the line when they started pushing the gay agenda.

I like Phineas and Ferb, but those others are banned.

Adventure Time- Best show ever! I am so sick of cartoons that mimic real life, this one is pure fantasy. So much fun, I think it boosts creativity.
Chowder- No longer being made, its pretty stupid. But it is cute, the artwork is very cool.
Spongebob- Come on...Who lives in a pinapple under the sea, Spongebob!! My boys love it, in fact my youngest has his room decked out in spongebob.
Phineas and Ferb- BEST CARTOON EVER! To me, it teaches kids that you can do or build anything! They are always helping their friends and fighting evil. Really, whats so bad about that?

I feel a child should be kept away from most electronic entertainment products, until, say 5 to maybe 7.

Just doesn't feel right to give children so much information to process at a touch of a button at such an early age.

Its not about making choices and you know fine well its not,the tv is always showing and promoting the wrong choices and glamourizing them,kids immitate what they see and if kids dont conform to what they have rammed into their brains,the other kids are programmed to hate them for not conforming,this is how brainwashing works.

The system is designed to mentaly exclude people who dont want to play ball.

Take disney for example,your child grows up with those young people/characters in their lives and want too be like them,look at some of those Ex-Disney stars now,when your kids reachs a certain age then the adult themes start be more noticable.

have a look for yourself,i typed in disney stars grown up and was shocked that i didnt find any men,just the sexualized end product that they birth out of disney

There is absolutly nothing positive to come out of the tv,there is no wisdom to be found.


The tv could have been a powerful tool for good but at this piont its only been used to lie to and manipulate us.

So is Spongebob as someone who grew up watching that show. Idk if its some agenda, probably just some adult humor theyre trying to subtly add into the show.
