I don't need to be a doctor to know that diabetes doesn't come from falling off of a building. I also know that in a modern economy there are millions of jobs that can be performed without a spine. The OP, if real, simply found a way to spend his whole life sponging off of others.

Is there something wrong with your brain and arms? What have you been doing for the last twenty seven years. There are millions of jobs that pay well where you sit in a chair and type, answer phones, assemble things, etc. etc. Why have you not pursued any of these professions?

Op, I don't know how it works in the US but i do know in Canada when you have a problem with red tape you call your Member of Parliament. Those scumbags will do anything to buy a vote, they step and get the wheels of government moving lickedy split.

I told a guy to call his MP just about a week and a half ago. He was having trouble with his Unemployment Insurance. Getting jerked around. The MP came down personaly and met him at the UI office and got that shit sorted out. He got his first check 2 days later in the mail. I did the same thing about 8 years ago. the office kept telling me to wait 90 days, 90 more days, call back in another 3 months. The MP got is solved in two. Just like with this friend of mine, that's how I know.

Find out if it's a state or fedeal program and call the appropriate rep. It can't hurt. I suspect those bags of shit like votes too, and they know there is no better way to buy a voter for life than to get you what you need. Why do you think some of those assholes spend 50 years on the job?

I can attest to this.

To the one claiming there are so many jobs where you can only use your brain and arms, show me one. Severe advanced
scoliosis combined with arthritis here. Have applied for countless jobs but unless you've got experience and/or a degree in a specialized field, I haven't been able to find anything. I make a very very small income creating handmade leather journals, but now, the worsening arthritis which has spread to my hands is making that impossible too.
Hard times can befall anyone.

As someone who has a broken bone in his back and is unable to walk very far, I finfd it easy to understand how someone would get diabetes due to immobility.

But you know it all, so who am I to voice an opinion. Oh that's right - I have personal experience of what it is like when my nerve root is being pressed upon by my spine and the top of my sacrum is higher than my L-5.

You have no clue how that changes everything until you - God forbid - experience it yourself. One day, you can walk, and walk and walk. The next day, and every day after that for years until you die, you are like a disabled old man.

I am living that. My back is so bad that I don't even think about having sex because getting into the position to have sex is darn near impossible.

Standing for 8 hours?? Hell, I can't stand for 15 minutes due to a back injury without becoming nearly immobile.

I had chronic bad back too until one day i took some plywood and fit pieces under the cushion of my sofa and after about a day my back healed. I've been fine for about a year now.

One of the risk factors for diabetes is a lack of exercise.

When you have a bad back injury, exercise can be a real problem. My pain only increases with increased walking. It does not get better. Simply walking from the car to a store causes pain.

Sure I could build up my upper body with weights. And I'm doing that presently. But that doesn't do a lot for my legs or butt muscles.

Try doing that when you have a smashed bone in your back, like I had. If you think a piece of plywood fixes a back like mine, you're clueless.

Seven hours of surgery stabilized my back to prevent paralysis or incontinence, but it's stabilized in a deformed position.
