Any home audio champs in the house?

I am thinking of getting a new reciever because the optical port is throwing me fits on the ps3. However, my current speakers all have the spring loaded wires for both ends...the kind that you push down on where you want to insert it(thats what she said). All the new recievers look like they have plug in ports....is there some sort of adapter that I can use to be the middleman here....I don't want to shell out money for the speakers too
