Quoting: QuinEtiam I had 3 interviews at a Cement plant,($28/hour) very competitive hundreds of applicants for 4 jobs. I did 3 interviews and made the final cut. On my last interview I walked out....told the panel that I don't like all the dust and that the air was not clean. 5 Jaws just dropped and they stared like I was crazy. No wonder you have nothing. |

Quoting: QuinEtiam At some point enough middle-class will turn into working-poor and things will slide. Literally every week the price of something goes up, gas, electrical, food etc. No kidding. And OMG, the price of coffee is outrageous. I mean, c'mon, it's one of life few, simple pleasures....and the cans are getting smaller and the prices are going on. Agreed, but an occasional good deal does sometimes appear. 1kg containers of coffee at Walmat on sale for $3.98. Just loaded up on 6 of them |

Best job I had in my life made 30k a year and worked there for 10 years. I bought and fixed up several houses moving up and making money each time to get to this spot in my life. Also bought, restored and sold many old cars to make money. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5558623 Well good for you, smarty pants. Trying to show people you don't have to have some mega job making a load of money to get somewhere in life dumb ass! LOL!? Tooting your horn over a seriously misplaced ego, is more like it. It's like,..."Finally someone who is "more-worser-off" than me,.....duh,hurr,hurr,hurr,......Ima Brag foro a minute." Funny thing is,....what you've described,....ain't all that impressive country boy....but you didn't even realize that,....now didja Jeffro? People brag about a lot less. For instance they own a expensive 4 bedroom house and Mercedes. Building a nice life for yourself is something you should brag about, you could encourage someone to get off their arse and get a job to go to Seaworld. Or better yet working at Seaworld. Anyone can make a life for themself, some people choose to be depressed and sit in front of a shonky funstation all day. Instead if they had a job they could go to a themepark, go snowboarding or buy a jetski. There's a lot to do on Earth, if you spend all your time on an internet forum then some people would consider you to be a loser. |

It's nothing but a fucking headache that costs me 10s of 1000s each year to maintain, defend, manage, and pay taxes on. The tax man is always lurking, inflation is eating it up 400k in savings like cancer, 2 million in real estate is now worth 1 million, but not many people have a million to buy it if I tried to sell it. If I had it to do all over again, I'd live in a fucking tent, and I wouldn't have to worry about losing anything. I'd only have to worry about living one day at a time. Count your blessings friend. |

Company went down the toilet. I have a house and 3 vehicles and alot of shit accumulated over the years. Im about to loose evrything i worked for. I make 8.50 an hour now. Your not alone at all. But i can see the pain in my family and feel powerless. Damn i can barely keep us warm and fed.On the upside i found a cabin on 1 acre for 9,000. 2 bedroom 1 bath.I may have to do it. I wish i was free like you OP sometimes. Quoting: farmer general 927602 We keep complaining but not many places a man can support a family with 5 kids and have a house and 3 cars while working as a painter. Consider yourself fortunate that you were able to experience what in other countries more educated people get to enjoy. The world is now a global community and getting more so everyday, what this means is the leveling out of the standard of living across the board. In places like China and India, the standard of living is going up and in places like Europe, Canada and the US the opposite is happening. Rather than complaining about how good it was and bitching to the government (which in turn forces the government to get into wars, that we end up protesting), pull yourself together go back to school get an education and in turn a better job. Good luck |

That's how banks lose money and people get refused loans. If people pay their debts then the banks won't have to sack employees or go broke. Besides if you're poor you need those people to make money, they're the ones that will donate stuff to the salvos/food banks that give people food.
