The US Embassy has advised all Americans in Nigeria to pack & be ready for evacuation by air if the strike persists till Friday 20th Jan.

Tomi Oladipo another BBC Lagos tweeted about how the SSS forced its way into the offices of the global new brands.

LAGOS, Nigeria (AP) -- Chevron Corp. says an offshore rig being run for its subsidiary near Nigeria's oil-rich southern delta has caught fire and officials are still trying to account for all the workers there.

Nigeria is the fifth-largest crude oil exporter to the U.S. It pumps about 2.4 million barrels of crude oil a day.
