could it be the sound/radio waves of a distant inhabited planet now only reaching us after traveling through space? much like the way earth puts out a bubble of vibrations/noise into space that one day might be picked up by distant planets or civilizations , same theory as droping a pebble into a pond and watching the ripples get bigger and bigger as they move out towards the edge of the pond.

I'm not a religious person, but doesn't the Bible speak about trumpets and God's judgement?

again today about 10:55am i heard a large rumbling sound that lasted about 5 minutes. yesterday i thought the house was going to start shaking. i called my brother that lives in geneva, fl. he and his girlfriend have been hearing the same for about two weeks. waiting on callback from other friends.

Much like the guy who slowed down the modem noise, maybe someone should speed up the sounds we've been hearing and post them.

I DO think that the posters on here who have heard it are genuine, I think there ARE some strange noises being heard, and a few of the videos are probably real which is awesome, but unfortunately there will be a bunch of attention-whore Youtube assholes who make fake videos replicating the noises and that ruins credibility for the people who actually heard them.

It is so easy for Youtube videos to go viral if they're even slightly believable so always check out what else the user has posted. I once watched a thoroughly believable UFO video but then after looking at all the other BS and fake videos the user had posted I realized he'd probably just perfected the art of playing with effects and then went back and then easily found flaws in his fake video. DO investigate the source and especially what other type vids they post. People will do anything for attention on Youtube.

I agree, wholeheartedly........ if this stuff continues to happen than there will be more personal reports coming in from around the world. My eyes are open to it now, regardless if some of these vids have been hoaxed (which has NOT been proven by the way)...

Lets keep our eyes and ears open and grab your video cameras if this happens again!

It's more likely that distant city sounds bounce off the atmosphere similar to the way shortwave radio works.

I agree. There is nothing we CAN do about it... which makes it all the more frightening. It's just interesting as we now live in a world where we are connected globally through technology. If there are signs that something is going on, people are going to share it..

But yes, there really isn't anything WE can do about it...

I once heard an extremely strange sound in Pennsylvania. Sounded like a flying saucer from one of those old syfi movies. A wooshh woosh woooshhh sound over and over and it was covering blocks and blocks. About a mile within city limits. No one could tell where it was coming from.

My husband and I noticed several sounds in Denton, Texas last night. We were visiting friends when there was a grumbling sound outside. Nothing happened and we checked earthquakes and there weren't any. Hmm.

I agree someone should try slowing down , speeding up and filtering out the eco and drone , someone with sound frequency tools that can examine it in more detail , some of the sounds in the video clips sound like church music chior singing , birds tweeting and thousands of people all talking at once.

One bit of skepticism. The video on page on that has the compilation, lists the Montreal Canada vid as 1/ll/2012 or maybe it was 11/1/2012...doesn't matter...there are leaves on the trees and there is green grass? There shouldn't be if it's January or November.

There has been no snow here for most of January...actually most of our winter in Canada which is very strange.

We just got about 2 cms about 2 days ago. I am assumming Montreal is the same..
