Anonymous Coward User ID: 8704146 United States 01/17/2012 07:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's exciting, it's major, and it's SUPPOSED to be happening! Quoting: meganebula 6861504 It's like the sound of whales calling to each other in the immense ocean. It's the song of life calling out to, and about to find it's source, it's heart, it's mate, it's family.... It is the sound of a song in search of itself, weary, but sure, and about to be born. Again. It's wonderful, I am filled with anticipation and hope and excitement, but also a little bit of weary and sad. It's the feeling when you go from grade school to high school, then again to college, then again to a career and family, then again to watch your grown kids leave, then to leave the career and retire, then to rest, and wait, until the next Great event of your living arrives, and you go into what is Next. It's a wonderful song, it is supposed to be. Fearful? Yep, a little. But who isn't at least a little afraid on the eve of the Next Great Event? Excited? Yeah, and I can't wait to see what's next! did u actually hear it? When I did it made my stomach shake...my dogs wouldn't even bark....that wasn't too exciting. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 8395281 United Kingdom 01/17/2012 07:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This poll is extremely biased towards saying the sounds are real and not a part of a viral or a hoax... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8395281 Surely a vote should be unbiased to contain all opinions? unless you're in politics. No, the question is about your reaction to the sounds themselves, regardless of whatever you think may be causing them. This is about one's personal psychological, neurological, emotional, or spiritual reaction to the accoustics -- the noise, the vibrations -- themselves. There are plenty of other threads speculating about their cause(s). This is about how each of us individually percieves and responds to them. But my reaction to the sound is 1. It sounds like cloverfield roar and has no effect on me and makes me think they are making a new Cloverfield film or 2. It sounds like the Kraken's roar in clash of the titans and I have no feeling or 3. It is a sound I know that many audible artists can create that can be virally utilised for films and I have no feeling as I watched War of the Worlds 2 on SyFi and it was crap or 4. I was more frightened by the sound of "Zombie groan in shopping mall" from Dawn of the Dead. 51 People voted blank, more than any of the other votes (at this time), probably due to the fact that they couldn't pick something that was unbiased. |

Tis was created when LHC was first switched on and set straight away to full power. This is why the collider broke during the first switch on, black holes are massively dense and heavy, this is why they sink into the core of matter and start feeding from the inside. This is also why we are having more frequent quakes and volcano activity. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8970944 Dont believe me, well the evidence is there for everyone to find and see for themselves :( Black holes are suspected or known to seek out gravity wells so that's a posibilty. It's easy to find something worth dying for. Do you have anything worth living for? |

Quoting: goodmockingbird We seem to be outnumbered by people who are scared of the sounds right now. Hum well the sound is curious but i had the same impression the first time i heard a lot of sounds. There's this intrument from australia i can't remember the name, who gived me the same sensation, it's like breathing but more deeply (like a cat purring maybe) difficult to explain sorry. It's not totally familiar (idk like the sound of the wind for ex) but neither the opposite too :1dunno Where do you live could explain your reaction too, people are not the same on big cities, they are disconnected from many things from nature like smells, sounds etc Is the instrument the digeradoo, or somthing like that? love... |

Exactly. When war of the worlds first came out...I was seriously tramatized. Something about that movie...but ya want to know what really fucking scared me? Those noises that the aliens made...maybe I am just being silly...but something caught my attention then and it affected me alot. Now I hear the same types of sounds from all of those videos. I am seriously creeped the fuck out! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 8395281 United Kingdom 01/17/2012 07:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I suppose the reaction or vote intention was that if you watch the videos, would a sound like that cause you anxiety in some form. In reality if I was to hear such a noise I would sh*t myself, however, as I have heard this same noise in a film, it kinda dumbs down my reaction due to the hype. Others intention to cause confusion or curiosity, with so many videos being proven as hoaxes, makes me think this is no more that something along the lines of viral or scaremongering. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1578009 United States 01/17/2012 07:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I think any fear comes from the implied enormity of the sounds, if that makes any sense. Almost sounds as if the planet's gears are churning, or a gigantic engine is starting. Something wayyyy big, big enough to make one feel extremely small and vulnerable/mortal. It's all seemingly conflicting feelings... So I couldn't choose just one answer. |

No video here...all I know is I think I don't want to know what made that sound. Didn't realize that it was a global thing until this evening...that's what is scary to me...what makes a sound that can travel the globe. I wish I had been the only one who heard it...for real. |

I had the same thoughts. The two dudes looking up at the sky in Costa Rica I think it was, may have been going along with the gag with a powerfull sound system say 100 yards away out of site. Then the rest of the net gets on the band wagon and rides the fame with their hoaxes much like real and fake crop circles. Can't tell what's real. It's easy to find something worth dying for. Anonymous Coward User ID: 7554855 Canada 01/17/2012 08:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I do not fear anything Quoting: solar2004 To me the sound is a reminder kinda like a sticky not telling people to wake up. Makes me very curious to what will happen next with the sounds and how people react to them as they increase in frequency. Wonder if it will be heard in all locations of the globe :P same for me. No fear (yet), but, if these sounds get way louder, then maybe I will be in fear somewhat, but I am sensitive to sounds, so an increase in sounds would be more difficult for me to bear. Plus my sensitivity has already increased recently. |

Video 2: To me sounds like In Dark trees by Brian Eno. video 3: Sounds like city noises to me. Video 4:Traffic noises. Video 5: Engine sounds, maybe a diesel truck or propeller sounds. Video 6: No unusual sounds at all. Video 7: Nothing unusual other than the sound of someone possibly chocking their chiuaua. Video 8: Sounds like an electric motor. Near a bridge, power station maybe? Video 9: Sounds like a plane or a shitty microphone recording a shitty truck. Video 10: Regular Sky sounds. Video 11: No sounds at all. Im not even going to continue. I think with the age of information, people just don't listen to the world anymore. There are definitively strange things happenings, these just aren't one of em. I suffer from Pronoia I have the suspicion the Universe is a conspiracy on my behalf. |

Only one of the options was one of expressing great fear... the other 3 or 4 options were positive reactions, which should have only accounted for ONE other answer, instead of 3 or 4. Add those positive ones together. |
