Nice touch threatening to blow the owner's brains out! [ link to www.wsbtv.com] Posted: 6:25 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012 Family dog killed in police mix-up DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A homeowner was held at gunpoint and his family pet was killed in a mix-up involving a DeKalb County police call. “When I ran to the garage and saw my dog laying there dead and I'm looking at blood, I lost it,” Bobbie Currie said. Around 9 p.m., a DeKalb officer went to her home on Silva Court in response to a domestic dispute call with a possibly armed person. The officer said the family’s German shepherd lunged at him, so he killed the dog. The recently rescued animal was chained in the garage when the shooting happened. Currie’s husband, Anthony, said the officer also pointed his gun at him and told him to put his hands up. “ I said, ‘Why [did] you shoot my dog?’ And he said, ‘Well, I'll blow your brains out.’ I said, ‘Hold on a minute, you just killed my dog. Why you want to blow my brains out? My hands are up.’ I said, ‘I don't have no gun,’” Anthony Currie said. Later, Dekalb police sent another officer to the scene. The supervisor who showed up said an error was made by an officer who was trying to help someone else. |

United States 01/18/2012 06:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Re: Deputy Goes To Wrong Home, Shoots Chained Dog Then Threatens to Kill Homeowner I'm surprised they didn't trump up some charge so they didn't have to admit to wrongdoing. These GA cops are hard-assed and somewhat stupid. Not always a great combination. |

United States 01/18/2012 06:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Re: Deputy Goes To Wrong Home, Shoots Chained Dog Then Threatens to Kill Homeowner This incident is another example of why you can't count on the police to "help" you. While this moron deputy was across the street at the wrong house killing pets and threatening the owners the domestic call he was *supposed* to be dealing with was going unattended. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1473858 Be careful what you wish for , moran. If this family even does get a "payout" it won't be very much after the greedy lawyers take their cut. |
