Actually this is little compared to the Good Friday 1964 Anchorage Alaska EQ. That one measured 9.4 Ricther if I remember right.

But still it was the first recorded major earthquake in the United States at the time it happened.

"Planet Busting" I believe starts around the 9.7 Ricther. A 10.0 would make us all realize, planetwise, that we are just ants on the surface of this big ole ball of dust.
