here is the fire near reno, nevada today: 40ft flames. explosions. winds off the sierra mts(volcanos) at 122mph.
they(reno) experienced an identicle fire in the same spot in november.the flames can be seen from reno in the southwest.

[link to hisz.rsoe.hu]

now before you BS me read the following article from 2008.
we MUST LEARN FROM OUR PAST EXPERIENCES.

[link to www.azcentral.com]

the cliff notes:
"swarm of earthquakes shakes reno area"
"more than 1000 over2 months"
"2 miles southwest of reno" (same area as fires)
"intensity and frequency increasing"
"eq's are occurring ONE MILE BELOW SURFACE"
"swarms are USUALLY ASSOCIATED with the movement of fluids
such as HOT MAGMA NEAR A VOLCANO"

i think we are seeing the birth or rebirth of a volcano.

causing big explosions.

The MSM keeping all the "real" info from us peons once again.
Being 4 miles from the evacuation line I did pack 2 bug out bags so I would be ready to go if THe Man, announced evacuations for my area. Got lucky, that never happened. Wind died down and some rain hit the area. Per Reno Gazette Journal as of 5 pm fire is 65% contained and no mention of gas pockets. They did say some dude admitted to dumping his fireplace ashes in the area where the fires began so he'll probably be arrested later and sent a large bill.
The fire late last year was about 7 to 10 miles further north to the west of Reno metro area. This current fire began south of town and closed down the 395 to Carson City. Carson City was never in danger.
There are dormant volcanoes in the area, when the weather is warmer I like to walk the trail on the one just behind IGT.
IGT is the largest casino gaming machine manufacturer in the world. You get a nice view.

No...the explosions were from propane tanks. The old gas station burnt
on one side but it still stands.

Those quakes are normal and very very small.

It's just a fire in a very fire prone area.

JOE BIDEN(who?) was evacuated from an engagement in reno
25 minutes after he started speaking on thursday afternoon.

350 firefighters on round the clock

ze3ro visabity, us395 shut down, traffic diverted all directions

door to door evictions, i mean evacuations

10,000 people homeless

300 children taken from school by red cross

ALL THIS FOR A 5 MILE FIRE? SERIOUSLY?
we get wildfires in los angeles EVERY YEAR, WITH SANTA ANA WINDS. WHAT SEEMS TO BE THE PROBLEM HERE?

Yikes! More doom for Reno.

Scientists just discovered a new fault line under Martis Creek dam near Truckee which is capable of up to a 6.9 eq.

If this dam breaks Reno would be flooded.

" * Polaris Fault could trigger 6.9-magnitude earthquake
* Martis Creek Dam could burst if fault moves
* Gambling city Reno, 33 miles away, is at risk of flood"

Yes, Lake Tahoe is an old Volcano although there has not been a lot of activity around the area. Just south of Lake Tahoe is Grover Hot springs which is still active. There is lots of evidence around the Sierra's of old volcanic activity.

Subject: Musings from a geologist: regarding the Reno Swarm
------------------------
Okay, just for my own amusement I went to the University of Nevada Reno (they have a pretty comprehensive geology department) seismology site here which has high-resolution maps of the epicenters at something like 100 meter precision.

I know exactly where the earthquake swarms are happening. They precisely coincide with a line of active vents at the base of a very large cinder cone. the vent field is easy to spot visually, because absolutely nothing grows there except a few pine trees (which always seem to be impervious to such things) and the soil is oddly colored. I've driven through it multiple times with my 4x4 while exploring the area around the cinder cone -- it reeks. According to the fault maps, the location is not near any known faults.

I'm going to vote for magma shift. Fifteen years ago that fissure was in the middle of nowhere, but there are suburban neighborhoods right next to it now.

It is Peavine Peak, an eroded Cascade Range volcano presumed extinct because it has not had a major event for over a million years even though the region is still geologically active. It is basically Lassen's next door neighbor in the Cascade sequence.

Well at least it explains all the active gas vents. Earthquakes (peaking in the 3.x range) are still coming very regularly. It must be interesting for people living there, since west Reno is built on the foot of the mountain itself.

Peavine Peak is scientifically interesting primarily because it has been recently identified as a natural feature that continuously injects large quantities of mercury into the atmosphere, along with two other volcanic areas. The interesting part is that the levels are far higher than anything anyone ever assumed would occur naturally.

Back in 1998, I was living outside Gerlach Nevada, 150 miles north of Reno. One winter day, a friend and I were driving along the salt flats when we saw flames shoot up a small distance from the road in the sage brush and snow. We both were like WTF?! Spun the car around and went back to where we saw the flames. When we got to the spot, we found a still smoldering sage brush with the snow melted around it. It was a perfectly clear day - so not a lightning strike. We poked around to see if there might have been some glass to act as a magnifier - nada. The only thing we could think of was possible volcanic activity as the area has numerous hot springs. I still ponder that one...

Recall the hundreds of people who sickened in San Diego a few months ago, from some 'strange smell'. And the 500+ marathon runners that sickened on their run in Las Vegas a month ago. And the family of four found stricken dead in San Diego in their pool. And the guy in the first Reno fire who stepped outside to evacuate and immediately dropped dead.

Hydrogen sulfide is pluming from the oceans and wafting ashore. It is not only highly lethal, it is also highly flammable. It also degrades concrete and steel via biogenic sulfide corrosion. So you get sickened and dead people and animals worldwide, explosions, fires, etc. One of the Earth's 'golden oldies' in terms of extinction events - the Earth turns into a giant spherical gas chamber. That is now under way.
