Sprint cell service down, anyone else? CME/Solar flare......

nothing for Verizon so far... am waiting..

Kinda weird though the wind picked up outside the last 25 minutes... very strong.. just out of no where! LOL

OP where are you located? im also with sprint, i have 3 phones on their network, all have no service (bills paid too lol)

Im in new Mexico. Have 2 sprint / boost phones both are down and have been for at least 2 hours. It's also very windy here.

I'm on sprint in oklahoma, and have had no problems.

Here in Santa Fe, NM...My friend had Verizon problems in Ohio.

I'm also in New Mexico and have two Boost mobile phones. Both lost service arond 4pm-5pm 1/21/12. Customer service said a fiber optic cable was cut. It is now 2am 1/22/12 and still no service. Hopefully they can fix it soon.

My Sprint Cell Service has been down since Saturday afternoon too. I contacted Sprint and they confirmed that Sprint Cell Service is down from Albuquerque, NM to El Paso, TX. Was supposed to have been back online this morning by 2:00am, but that obviously didn't happen. Would have been nice had they put the info out on the Sprint website and/or a Media release like Blackberry has done in the past when their services went dark.

i am without service in NM an auger destroyed a major fiber optic line alot of other carriers use sprint boost mobile staight talk (just their smart phones the rest use verizon) this kind of sucks i have wifi so i can use my google voice to send and recieve text to my phone i think every one should get google voice its free

i actually think its amazing that one line can take out service in such a large area they dont have any kind of redundant back ups they are saying that it might be down till tuesday wow

My friends are using Virgin, Verison, Sprint and another brand- all have been out since 2:30ish Sat. Jan-21-12.

I can't see one cable break doing this much damage, thier has to be some kind of backup for events like this right?

Everyone I know with Sprint cell phones in N TX are having issues. Dial out and hear nothing on your end, but the person being called hears the phone ring but no one is on the other end of the call. Happens about 75 percent of the time . . . since mid day yesterday.

Boost Mobile finally started working again around noon Sunday Jan 22. Today is now Wednesday Jan 26, 2am. Once again service has gone out in NM for both of my Boost Mobile phones??? Hopefully this time they wont take as long to fix the problem as the last. I wonder if I call customer service again if they will say another fiber optic cable was cut? Really.....really. Who knows, maybe its a solar flare problem?
