Solar Megastorm Could Cripple Satellites for a Decade!

"What we concluded based on our calculations is that a very strong storm would decrease the lifetime of a typical LEO satellite by a factor of ten," said study leader Yuri Shprits, a geophysicist at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Though the results are still preliminary, Shprits predicts that a majority of the LEO satellite fleet could be lost within a few years of such an event.

What's more, the effect could last for up to a decade, the model showed.

It's really hard to say. The magnetosphere just got pounded for 24 solid hours just yesterday. This is a faster moving CME so I would think it will be of shorter duration.

I can feel as i type this the flare making me stronger my muscles are expanding and i looked absolutely RIPPED. My anger is increasing however and i'm starting to turn green

Be carefull of what you show her, she is to young to comprehend the actual cause of her distress. Simply give her comfort and love like you are doing. Make sure to keep the fear out of the equation. You don't want her to fear the sun, we are all on this ride together and the children are our future. You show and talk about potential doom to children you cause unnecessary fear produced in dreams and such. Let her evolve naturally and be an example as to how to behave when we get bombarded with energy. When she is old enough you can show her what she is ready to understand.

NASA Warns "huge space storm" will Cause Devastation!

“We know it is coming but we don’t know how bad it is going to be,” Dr Richard Fisher, the director of Nasa's Heliophysics division, said in an interview with The Daily Telegraph.
“It will disrupt communication devices such as satellites and car navigations, air travel, the banking system, our computers, everything that is electronic. It will cause major problems for the world.
“Large areas will be without electricity power and to repair that damage will be hard as that takes time.”
Dr Fisher added: “Systems will just not work. The flares change the magnetic field on the earth that is rapid and like a lightning bolt. That is the solar affect.”
