Anonymous Coward User ID: 703980 United States 01/24/2012 04:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I need help...please. My 6 year old grandchild just went into a ...don't no but she is crying and calling her mind red... she won't stop...what should I do?? I'm sure it's the flare coming in..all I can do is hug her and tell her it's ok and knowing this is what is happening. I showed her a picture of the sun so she could get it on her level. What else shold I do? Any one else having this going on? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1515739 Be carefull of what you show her, she is to young to comprehend the actual cause of her distress. Simply give her comfort and love like you are doing. Make sure to keep the fear out of the equation. You don't want her to fear the sun, we are all on this ride together and the children are our future. You show and talk about potential doom to children you cause unnecessary fear produced in dreams and such. Let her evolve naturally and be an example as to how to behave when we get bombarded with energy. When she is old enough you can show her what she is ready to understand. water let her play in a warm bath |

THE sun has blasted the earth with radiation in the biggest solar storm since 2005 and stargazers in southern Victoria and Tasmania could be in for a celestial treat. Charged particles from a solar flare began hitting Earth on Monday, with space weather experts warning the rush of radiation could disrupt global positioning system signals and electrical grids in polar regions. The storm could already be disrupting satellite communications as streams of radiation from the sun bounce across the Earth's magnetic field, which extends above the surface into space. However, to the north and directly above the horizon the sky is striped with a bluish green and pink....Not the normal sunset colors and the faint striping is through the entire northern sky just above the horizon. Quoting: TheOracle It looks odd for sure. No one else seeing amazing colors in the sky like me? As the sun started setting, every cloud in the sky turned very pink. The stripes I talked about above got even brighter of course because of the setting sun. I'm definitely thinking solar radiation. My husband took pics with his phone. I'm waiting for him to get them on my computer, but am thinking his phone didn't pick up the colors. I'll post them if they are worthy. The pics didn't show the brightness of the pinks anything close to the real thing. I live in a wooded area so you have to look through the trees. Look for the striping right above the horizon, even though it is faint compared to what it really was...you can still see it and the pink puff clouds. The pink clouds covered the entire sky and by the time the sun started setting the striping went around 2/3 of the horizon. Until the time of my first post most of the clouds did not show up in sky. It came on very suddenly. [link to www.flickr.com] [link to www.flickr.com] [link to www.flickr.com] [link to www.flickr.com] Kindness is in our power, even when fondness is not. --Samuel Johnson |
