Veterinary medicine for humans?
I was in the local feed store picking up a vaccination for my daughters new puppy, and noticed that they had a number of vaccinations and drugs that humans take also. I was thinking that in a survival situation, these might be valuable. There was pennicilen, tetanus, and a number of others. is there anyone out ther who knows if these are viable for humans?

Yes, they often are the exact same drugs as human use, but are approved by fda for animal use. Or in some cases, they aren't even approved for animal use, so they are literally just human drugs.

I work for a pharmaceutical company, by the way.

ALSO, a GOVERNMENT study some years ago PROVED the "Use By Dates' are really phony !

Their own studies showed up to six years for most were FINE ! Also had one out to 10 years or beyond, but never released the results.

Fish antibiotics such as fishflex are human grade. Just saying.

Mostly only available online.

Dunno. All I know it is a drug that scientists follow to mimic the death process experience. Kinda of interesting actually.

Re: Veterinary medicine for humans?
Actually nearly every drug (medication, not vaccination) out there for animals is the same thing that they make for humans.

They are cheaper and are often repackaged and redosed for the animal. you do not want to take a horse sedative, dosed for a horse, however it will be the same chemically as what is used for humans.

Cipro for Dogs (medium t large breeds) is exactly the same pill as they sell for human use. Same dose per pill, same cladding, same serial number.

The package may say 'not for human use' that is only because the packaging insures that most humans will go for the more expensive Cipiro packed in a 'human container' so they can be charged up the ass - or their medical insurance.

Ammoxicillian for cats (the pink, cherry flavored liquid) is the exact same formula they give to young children. Repackaged and sold for 'animal use only' at a price so cheap as to make you scream at the pharmaceutical companies for the profiteering they make off humans.

There may be a few drug exceptions, for instance you do not want to use the same treatments for cat leukemia as for human leukemia, the two diseases are really vastly different and require different therapies.

That is not altogether true.

While the chemical doesn't change much, potency died off rapidly until 5 years out, then the potency goes through a longish period of decline.

You can use that drug, but it will not be effective. You have to be a chemist to know and be able to calculate potency to get the proper dosage.

You'd be surprised at what the human body can actually consume and not die from.
