Incidently OP is right, this map shows 392 EQs on the map by 12:30 pm and generally there are about 390 - 400 EQ for the entire day so we are having more then usual, even if small.

That map shows earthquakes in Nevada and Mexico and shows earthquakes that are a week old.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4423947

True, but this is the one I follow daily and it generally shows 390 - 400 EQ at the end of each day so it does show a higher amount, sorry if I wasn't clear.

That 390-400 number isn't all from today. Only the blue ones are from the last 24 hours...the yellow squares range from 25 hours ago-a week ago. I see maybe 50 from the last 24 hours in the state of California, which is below the 10 year average in a 24 hour period.

Re: Little swarms in California, expecting stronger activity soon West Cost area
You are just one fck moron what think he know something ..

Moron I read this pre-earthquake signals yesterday, i was correct for that ..

I put this because I what to say it's coming coming stronger activity, that way I open thread ..

I see electromagnetic pre-eartqueke signals in CA yesterday, and look I was properly predict stronger activity ..

You are so little in your fck head and think all world knowledge is what you know ..

Open you mind little and dont be fck moron, try to learn something or fck just ask something first ..

So if you're so good great philosopher wtf you doing here go make some money moron, world need that shit although it is already full of fck useless philosopher ..

I'm here to help you because I see this EM pre-eartqueke signals, and I'm good in that kind of job but nothing from my any more and good luck you will need that there ..
 Quoting: Rain-Man

So unlike the others, I am at least interested in hearing what you have to say. What are you seeing that makes you think this is a cause of concern.

go back toyour country
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9545414

I live where earthquakes live ..

There is my country, worldwide were we expect strong earthquakes ..

Because your time has come I "live" in West Cost of US ..

But no problem and good luck in next 5 months I leave yours CA ..

And learn something about pre-eartqueke electromagnetic signals and similar ..

Then maybe we can speak ..

You tell 'em OP - it's pathetic how some Americans pick on others with a foreign accent. It just shows that they probably didn't finish grade school.

By the way, it seems that Calif. is getting a bit more activity than usual today, while the rest of the ring of fire rests. Hmmm!

map 3.8 2012/01/24 04:11:28 38.969N 122.693W 3.4 6 km ( 4 mi) WNW of Clearlake, CA

there is always activity near The Geysers, so that 3.1 would be considered normal.

the 2 near Aromas are not unusual, the name is but not the location (near Pinnacles which has been active the past year, if not more).

the 2 around Big Bend and the one at Clearlake are somewhat unusual but not surprising as there has been seismic activity there before.

I'm in L.A. wondering if the "energy" is going to move down this way. I don't wish a quake upon anyone, but if one occurs, let's hope it's in another "usual" area, like around El Centro, Riverside County or Big Bear, not closer to the more populated L.A. area.

Think this is most dangerous place in North America for stronger earthquake and very probably will appear in ocean from N Ca Cost to British Columbia ..

Cool, thanks for clearing that up, Dettro!

I still had 2 screens open on my laptop, of the USGS earthquakes over 3.0 in California list.

This is how it was at 12:19pm Pacific (local) time:

Update time = Thu, 26 Jan 2012 20:19:27 UTC
5 earthquakes in list
map 3.1 2012/01/26 11:54:05 38.814N 122.825W 3.5 2 km ( 1 mi) NW of The Geysers, CA
map 3.0 2012/01/26 09:09:21 36.229N 118.318W 8.3 28 km (17 mi) WSW of Cartago, CA
map 3.2 2012/01/26 02:16:49 41.035N 121.997W 11.5 8 km ( 5 mi) WNW of Big Bend, CA
map 3.4 2012/01/25 18:20:19 36.935N 121.680W 11.1 6 km ( 4 mi) NNW of Aromas, CA
map 3.8 2012/01/24 04:11:28 38.969N 122.693W 3.4 6 km ( 4 mi) WNW of Clearlake, CA

Then it changed to this as of 2:55pm:

Update time = Thu, 26 Jan 2012 22:55:30 UTC
5 earthquakes in list
map 3.0 2012/01/26 11:54:05 38.814N 122.825W 4.0 2 km ( 1 mi) NW of The Geysers, CA
map 3.2 2012/01/26 02:16:49 41.035N 121.997W 11.5 8 km ( 5 mi) WNW of Big Bend, CA
map 3.2 2012/01/25 18:21:03 36.936N 121.683W 11.1 7 km ( 4 mi) NW of Aromas, CA
map 3.4 2012/01/25 18:20:19 36.935N 121.680W 11.1 6 km ( 4 mi) NNW of Aromas, CA
map 3.8 2012/01/24 04:11:28 38.969N 122.693W 3.4 6 km ( 4 mi) WNW of Clearlake, CA

Oh they find my .. o0oo0o

abduct

Maybe bro, personally think we will have here soon one stronger ..

Active "line" pressure from Iran to Italy will is not to far from us if crack here it will very strong for this area ..

I think in next months Greece and Italy be in big danger Adriatic sea too ..

I know for that Turkey 7.2 I was monitoring swarms there 4 months ..

That is reason I come here because i know where will hit, in 30 hours and i did not post to more people see that ..

When Japan have that one I was monitoring geomagnetic storm 5 days before, in my family I'm not only astronomy maniac ..

But swarms are in one heads good they release pressure and I think someone doing something in Ca in purposely ..

If or when hit Italy or Greece it will be stronger from that Turkey of M 7.2 because of that reason, or Bosnia but here we are already fcked .. xD

The USGS Monitors Earth’s Magnetic Field to Prepare Citizens for Magnetic Storms

“These new storms, and the storm we witnessed on Sept 26, 2011, indicate the up-tick in activity coming with the Earth’s ascent into the next solar maximum,” said USGS geophysicist Jeffrey Love.” This solar maximum is the period of greatest activity in the solar cycle of the Sun, and it is predicted to occur sometime in 2013, which will increase the amount of magnetic storms on Earth.

So it's start in Ca, this two earthquakes of M 5.7 N Ca and M 5.1 S Ca make "season open", now there will be stronger activity ..

Will be dangerous there next months, especially around May 2012 ..
