Ireland leaders control the same % of their plebes as all leaders do.

Not enough.

I mean the Irish will never give up. This chump shit isn't their way. I doubt they've lost their balls.

No but it depends what you are watching? If you are watching a daily-soap then you will be fine because it is brainwashing you. But in case you watch documentaries which critize our current system can be a problem for you.

YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT ON THE INTERNET. THE THING IS WHAT ARE YOU DOING THERE?

they want to own the internet too. but we can also create our own internet. several people already started a network in local areas.

We should think about that. We have to beat them with their weapons. What they can do can we do too. No commercial ads and so on....

lolsign I do not have a TV set but just a computer. It is so nice to communicate with people who are very far away. This gets a kind of addiction. Anyway this is a good point.

It's so absurd to think they can stop pirating.

They will have to completely get rid of computers, video cameras, tape recorders, cell phones with pic and vid, and bunch of other stuff.

Damn power hungry douche bags, everyone knows it impossible to stop piracy, this is a pure power grab!

There has and is laws about copyright this probably over steps the limits on punishments if caught

No. This throws you in jail and steals your money in the form of a fine for posting a vid of your wedding day with any particular song playing in the background and not getting the artist's permission. Anyone could break the law and not even know they did.

You can say that again, it's high time the hammer of justice was brought down upon these lazy communists! I say if they can't pay the fines then they shall pay their restitution through forced unpaid manual labour until the equivalent of their fine(and or fines) is repayed! Then they will have learned a valuable lesson upon their release from the silver mines!

Re: Breaking: Ireland and EU to sign controversial ACTA treaty tomorrow
What is ACTA?

- ACTA ensures people everywhere can continue to share non-pirated material and information on the web
- ACTA does not restrict freedom of the internet. ACTA will not censor or shut down websites.
- ACTA ensures that organised crime can be pursued when intellectual property is stolen - harming innovation, fair competition and destroying your jobs
- ACTA is not about how we use the internet in our everyday lives.
- ACTA allows people to continue using their social networks such as Twitter and Facebook just as they have in the past-no change.
- Computers, iPads or iPhones will not be checked or monitored – ACTA is not Big Brother.

Why is ACTA not SOPA?

- SOPA is a US draft law that would change US legislation. ACTA does not require any EU law changes. Anything you can do legally today is still legal after the ratification of ACTA.
- ACTA does not foresee cutting off internet access to anyone.

So why does the EU support ACTA?

- Because ACTA ensures the EU's already high standard of protection for intellectual property goes global - protecting jobs in Europe.
- Because Europe is losing €8 billion annually through counterfeit goods flooding our market.

Hahaha, I won't go into all of the ridiculous lines, but:

"ACTA does not foresee cutting off internet access to anyone."

IRELAND IS to sign a controversial international agreement tomorrow which promises a major international crackdown on the trade of counterfeit goods – and illegal internet filesharing.

Irish representatives will sign the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) at a ceremony tomorrow – as will representatives from each of the other 26 European Union member states, and the EU itself.

So, is this just going country by country? Is this a UN treaty? Is the UN involved in anyway?
