Hello to everyone, I have come to Glp today with a very serious question. If you were to walk up to your husband/wife/mother/father/etc. and say 'I think we should start stocking up on emergency supplies,' how would they answer? If your lucky, they'll agree or at least politely ask what your concerns are.
My friends and family are oblivious. Until a few days ago no one I knew, even knew wtf a CME was - or that our sun even did anything besides float in space... That's just an example of how ill informed the people I know are. They're pristine examples of sheeple, infact this whole town is.
When I went to talk to my husband about stocking up on water and food, just a small start he acted like I was completely insane. He assumed I was afraid of the 2012 thing, and rambled on about how ignorant I was. I then went on to ask if he thought we were exempt from war, natural disasters, disease, and so on - things that do happen daily on our planet. His answer might as well have been 'Well, yeah - 'cause we're Americans.'
Disgusting. I couldn't even continue the conversation with him. I don't know where to start preparing, but I feel like the next couple years may get rough - I won't go into why I feel this way. I wish I had help and support from my family, I can't afford to stock up on enough supplies for them all!
Can any of you good people offer me advice, and perhaps some good legitimate reasons to prepare for disaster to throw at my family? Also, any advice about preparing and items I should stock up on are more than welcome. Thanks in advance!
