Let's see if they can do it!!! Debate tonight Giving the most time in debates to the clear frontrunners is not something new. It's been like that in every debate. the debate tomorrow is for Florida, and like it or not, Ron Paul does not have a remote chance of winning it, with polls showing him at 10% or less. And like it or not, the race is between Gingrich and Romney there, so obviously more time will be devoted to them. How much time did, say, Bachman get when she was a non-contender? Personally, I love the freedom to watch whatever I like, and I despise any partisan group who does anything to deny me of that freedom. By practicing an effort to bring down CNN, this group is in direct contradiction to Ron Paul's stated support of freedom and liberty. Their attempt to censor the debate only serves to further marginalize Ron Paul supporters and anyone who is actually denied the right to view this debate will see them as fringe fanatics. |

I don't think find alot of people in agreement with you here. Ron Paul supporters cross party lines unlike the remaining candidates. Don't head much attention to Florida polls as it is a closed primary and winner take all state. Let Newt and Romney duke it out spending millions of campaign funds for the chance at 1/2 of the normal delegates here. |

I'm in 100% agreement with you on this however, do you consider it fair when the media purposely slanders and misrepresents a candidate to further their own political agenda? Tell me, whats gives the media any right to attempt to control any electoral process? If it is a commercial business and they do not libel or slander anyone, then they have the right to their editorial content and may broadcast anything they wish. For example, newspapers have traditionally published endorsements of candidates. No, they do not have the right to slander anyone by the legal definition of slander. If they do, then the object of that slander has the right to sue. Since this thread is about CNN, I have never seen anything published by CNN that could be considered libelous or slander, but please correct me if I am wrong and provide a link. While I agree that it may not be fair for a media company to misrepresent anyone, in a free market society, we are free decide who we wish to patronize. We do not need government, laws or groups to decide for us which media company is "fair" . To turn the question around, do you think it is correct for government, laws, or groups to protect you and decide for you which media outlet is fair, and if they decide it is not, to censor it? |
