Local Paper: Now 1,143 Fukushima children with lumps on thyroid gland, not 26—Nearly 1 in every 3 kids tested “Gov’t has decided they are benign"

However, Shunichi Yamashita, the head of the commission and the vice president of Fukushima Medical University explains, “There is no malignant change due to the nuclear plant accident”

Of [the remaining] 3739 children [...] 1117 children have been found with lumps 5.0 millimeters or less in diameter. But the prefectural government has decided they are “benign” [...]

[...] 1143 children, or 30.4% of children tested, were found with [thyroid] lumps of varying sizes. [...]

It decidedly does not look totally OK to me, and the explanation by the Fukushima officials sounds suspect.
