"Subject yourselves, therefore, to God; but oppose the Devil, and he will flee from YOU.  Draw close to God, and he will draw close to YOU. Cleanse YOUR hands, YOU sinners, and purify YOUR hearts, YOU indecisive ones.Give way to misery and mourn and weep. Let YOUR laughter be turned into mourning, and [YOUR] joy into dejection. Humble yourselves in the eyes of Jehovah, and he will exalt YOU." Ja4:7

You can know and say you are saved and still be humble. If not then how can you justify preaching truth to others? You or we can also fall away and lose our salvation, contrary to what some believe.

Just curious OP, but has the organization changed their stand on what the mark of the beast is lately?

I fear many JW's will accept the real mark believing that the mark is celebrating holidays and stuff like that.

Even Paul didn't pronounce himself saved;
"Therefore, the way I am running is not uncertainly; the way I am directing my blows is so as not to be striking the air;  but I pummel my body and lead it as a slave, that, after I have preached to others, I myself should not become disapproved somehow." 1Cor926

Re: Can people who pronuunce their own selves "saved", still be saved, in spite of themselves?
isn't the question 'how could we possibly tell if God pronounced anyone to be?

are there true changes in the sorts of people?

who could tell the difference? who know's God so well?

is there any way to tell?

or not?

The word saved means victim rescued, are these people truly victims rescued somehow?

What my question means is, God didn't grant anyone authority to proclaim himself saved, what will become of those who rival his authority?
" For the Father has affection for the Son and shows him all the things he himself does, and he will show him works greater than these, in order that YOU may marvel.  For just as the Father raises the dead up and makes them alive, so the Son also makes those alive whom he wants to.  For the Father judges no one at all, but he has committed all the judging to the Son,  in order that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He that does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him." Jo5:19

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4619492

Regarding proclaiming one's own self saved, the Word says;
"And he journeyed through from city to city and from village to village, teaching and continuing on his journey to Jerusalem.  Now a certain man said to him: “Lord, are those who are being saved few?” He said to them:  “Exert yourselves vigorously to get in through the narrow door, because many, I tell YOU, will seek to get in but will not be able,  when once the householder has got up and locked the door, and YOU start to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Sir, open to us.’ But in answer he will say to YOU, ‘I do not know where YOU are from.’  Then YOU will start saying, ‘We ate and drank in front of you, and you taught in our broad ways.’  But he will speak and say to YOU, ‘I do not know where YOU are from. Get away from me, all YOU workers of unrighteousness!’  There is where [YOUR] weeping and the gnashing of [YOUR] teeth will be," Lk13:24
