Obama 'speech' - Anybody else notice this?
This very much concerns me.
In his state of the union sales pitch last night Obama stated that he aimed to make it easier for those returning from war to get jobs in 'law enforcement'! Can you read between the lines here? Personally i do not want 'kids' with PTSD that are used to gunning down innocent people like they are playing a video game patroling any where near my family! Anyone else notice this?

Good observation - I agree.

So they're good enough to fight and die you for in the desert, but not good enough to police your streets?

Interesting summation of what you think the military does.
One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one.

Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway.

You kind of missed the point. Many of the soldiers that come back have PTSD and are not very safe individuals. It's not an insult to them, it's just how it is. They are often mentally unstable and end up killing people when they do come back, putting them into a situation that will cause flashbacks could end up with a lot of innocent people getting hurt.

And news flash, most of us think them being over there is wrong. If we were being attacked and they were defending us it would be a different story, in this war we are the attackers. We are in their territory, not the other way around. I don't know of a single person offline that supports them. Don't get me wrong, I respect them and pray for them, they are only following orders. But, people following orders are behind all of the biggest slaughters in history.

Damn, your right, that isn't good.

Soldiers need to find normal jobs, not high stress law enforcement careers.

Bad move Obama.

I suggest reading the Scott Olson interview in the latest RollingStone issue..

In many ways, there's a natural constituency for the Occupy movement in the U.S. military, with its long history of dubious governmental spending and a workforce that's exploited almost by definition. Today, veterans have a higher unemployment rate than civilians, along with higher rates of homelessness and suicide. Olsen's friends at IVAW include people like Dottie Guy, a 29-year-old Army veteran from Halifax, Virginia, who was sent to Iraq without armor plates in her vest and remains unemployed thanks to a lingering foot injury, and Matt Howard, a 29-year-old Marine who served near Fallujah and watched as military personnel making 30 grand a year, with wives back home on federal assistance, were "downsized" in favor of contractors being paid three times as much. Howard says he joined up for the same reason as many of his colleagues: to escape from a small town, save up some money for college.
