Tell us AA how doppler radar can measure wind speed.
This should be a hoot
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29820852 Doppler radar can measure the velocity of precipitation falling whiten it;s scope, it is in fact the reason it was implemented, to detect high winds , tornadoes Quoting: Anonynous astrophysicist, 1397298 Ummmm no not at all You obviously looked at the doppler map and thought it was clouds but guess what? Doppler radar can't show clouds either. Do you even know how doppler works? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29820852 Doppler radar measures the velocity, direction and intensity of precipitation AN CAN BE USED TO DETERMINE WIND VELOCITIES IN ALL AXISES . Normal precipitation is ALWAYS associated with clouds. Quoting: Anonymous astrophysicist, 1397298 It has to be something of sufficient size to be even picked up on radar and no doppler cannot measure wind speed at all accurately all it can do is show the speed at which precipitation is moving and it's density. It also can only read radially and is completely blind straight up. I am laughing about your omni-directional doppler radar.
