Re: The Prayer Request Thread - Everyone is Welcome - We Will Pray For You!
I'd like to ask that somebody would pray to give me strength to over come daily temptations. I have no one in all my close family/friend circle these days that is a Christian, so I'm alone in this. It makes it difficult to constantly resist sin left and right. The Bible says in 1st Corinthians, "Evil company corrupts good habits." That is certainly true.

Although, I've been doing much better lately, but the challenge is still there. I almost never ask anyone to pray for me, because I like to boast in my mind thinking I can do it alone, but the enemy's darts are impossible to overcome without prayer. I ask to pray for me. Thank you.

I'll [of course] be praying for others here in love.

I want to add:

Remember: Biblical love is not a feeling. It is an attitude and involves action. "Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." (1 Cor 13:4-7 NKJV)
The false gospel: If you don't continually perform, you're out.

The true Gospel: Believe.

Please pray for my dear friend who relapsed and is in detox that he will make the choice to enter long term rehab. When he is sober, he is a fabulous man. Please pray that he speaks to his better angels and has the strength to go the distance after a 15 year struggle.

Pray for my sister who has been suffering with an illness for the past few years. It's a mixture of hypochondria and some real elements, such as a botched hernia surgery. She's so negative now, not at all the person she used to be. Thank you!

Father in heaven, we ask for help with this person's sister. You know her troubles physically, emotionally and spiritually. I ask that you send a ministering angel to her to lift up her spirit and help restore her joy, peace and hope.

Re: The Prayer Request Thread - Everyone is Welcome - We Will Pray For You!
The circumstances I find myself in was explained to me by Jesus my Lord. I've been praying extensively for the past few weeks regarding the evils of the world and how man is becoming more evil as everyday passes. I requested my Lord to help me fight this evil. Well I got my wake up call from the Lord and the sign was given to me.

I need prayer because I'm currently taking on a school distric and Monsanto. This will be a very tough battle but I feel that my Lord will give me the strength. Why would the Lord give me the things to start this battle if he would not provide protection.

But there is a huge need for prayer in this battle no matter what happens. Please pray that the truth is revealed and children are protected from the evil that men do.

I love you all!

God bless

Dear LORD,

Give this person YOUR strength, wisdom an help in the battle that they are engaged in. LORD, please protect them from the enemy and let the NAME OF JESUS be a hedge of protection around them. Use them to accomplish YOUR perfect will for the situation they are involved in right now.

In JESUS NAME's I pray,
amen

Where in the bible does it instruct us to REQUEST a prayer? I do not recall anyone requesting a prayer. If so, please give me the verse.

The verse below is to a group, but it is instructing the individuals. It does not indicate group prayer, nor group singing.

James 5:13 "13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise."
 Quoting: Curious 7294028

Wow, if you didn't realize that praying for others is part of the Christian faith, then I would encourage you to open your bible and start reading. Praying for others is one of the most important things we can do as believers. Below are just a few verses that reference it, there are so many that I'm not going to include them all, I don't have the time.

"Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him" (James 5:14-15).

"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed"

"Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him" (Acts 12:5).

"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints" (Ephesians 6:18).

"For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers" (Romans 1:9).

"We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you" (Colossians 1:3).

"Brethren, pray for us" (2 Thessalonians 5:25).

"Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me" (Romans 15:30).

"Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God" (Colossians 4:12).

"Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer...." (1 Corinthians 7:5a).

Re: The Prayer Request Thread - Everyone is Welcome - We Will Pray For You!
Pray for my Grandmother, she just lost my Grandfather on the 5th. I hope she is strong enough to have many years of happiness left. I pray that she find meaning in her life although her husband is gone, that she find God's will for her life in the days and possibly years to come.

Pray for my Mother, that her path becomes clearer and she is can understand the will of God in her life and find happiness.

Pray for my stepfather, he is Alcoholic and gets very mean when he drinks. I know there is a better man inside, but he almost looks demonic when he has been drinking. Pray that he becomes less materialistic and more concerned with people instead of money. I pray that he can learn to relax and just trust in the future, instead of having fear of the unknown. I pray that he can learn to hear from God and love him and understand God's will for him.

Pray for me that I can also battle my own sins. I too am sometimes lazy, materalistic, greedy, selfish. I love nothing more than just to sleep sometimes, doing nothing for anyone. I don't feel very motivated at times to do anything. I blame others for this, thinking if I lived in a better environment and around better people, I could be a better person. I think I am surrounded and so I give in to sin as well. I need to be more forgiving of others instead of holding a grudge. We all have sinned, and mine are no better or worse. Just sin. I judge others at times or think myself better, but I have many selfish sins that I need to work on.
I want to be a better person and maybe I need to be the one to motivate others instead of relying on them to motivate me. But we all need to grow in faith and strength.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7106716

Heavenly Father, we ask for your help with this family. Please help grandmother to find peace, happiness and meaning in her life. Please turn stepfather to you so that he can be free and delivered from the spirit of addiction, anger and money. Also, the poster so that he/she can learn to focus on you and look to you for all guidance and wisdom and grow into the person that you want her/him to be.

Lord, we ask for help for Fidokrab and his walk with You. Please Lord, help him to draw even closer to you. Strengthen his faith and his resolve so that he can resist the devil and flee from temptation and sin. Through You all things are possible. Please send your Holy Spirit to comfort and minister to him and help Him feel your presence. We ask that you would send him a good strong believer to be a friend that he can also lean on, but of course leaning on you first. Thank you Father for all of your blessings.

Re: The Prayer Request Thread - Everyone is Welcome - We Will Pray For You!
I have played sports my whole life and was very athletic. At the age of 17 I was having calf pain out of nowhere whenever I ran. After about a year of to and from the hospital getting test after test and misdiagnosis, they finally found that my right leg popliteal artery that runs from the heart was partially blocked under my knee cap that only allows my blood-flow to that leg at 60%. So basically I can walk no problem but when I need to run my leg starts to kill after about 30 seconds. I had to hang up all my sports and its been a pain to live with. I was born into a Pentecostal Christian family and have been a christian my whole life. I love Jesus with all my heart and have asked for healing many times but have come to believe that maybe this is something I may have to live with. Please pray for me, I would love to be able to play sports again and get back to my normal activities. Im 22 Now and there is nothing the doctors can do to fix it. The only operation they could do is re-route the artery around the back of my knee but thats only temporary and will break down in 2 years. So the only one who can heal me is Jesus, but I have yet to receive the healing. I always wanted to have my own miraculous story of healing and have been praying, im just asking for some help in pray and may God's will be done! thanks guys

Thank you for Tee's life and all that YOU've done for her/him! We ask if YOU could touch her/his leg right now, in the powerful NAME OF JESUS and heal it completely. We know, LORD, that YOU are the great PHYSICIAN and can do miracles. Let YOUR perfect will done, in JESUS's NAME WE ASK, amen.

Prayers for my Son, that he likes the new job he got and stays there.

Also, I need Prayers that I didn't jeopardise a job that I was interviewed for unknowingly. It seems like the enemy is trying to block all doors that are being opened to me...

Dear LORD,

We thank you for the job that Lion of J.'s son got. We ask that YOU would protect it and grant him favor there with his boss and co-workers.

LORD, please help Lion of J. to find a job quickly. Open the doors to YOUR perfect will for him. Meet all of his financial needs and please rebuke all evil spirits that are trying to cause him harm and demise.

I pray this in JESUS's NAME, amen.

Re: The Prayer Request Thread - Everyone is Welcome - We Will Pray For You!
I'm going to go for this because my mom has been encouraging me to pray and I think it will help to have others pray for this cause. It's not for me, it's for my son.

He's a good kid, very hard working in school, makes very good choices, holds down a job, participates in a sport. Has a girlfriend who he treats very well. Overall, you can see when you meet him he's a very good, pure spirit. He is not angry or mean, he helps others and means well. he has good aspirations to become a scientist and help others in the future with medical technology.

With his intellect, he would be very capable of this. But we are in financial dire straights. I've had a terrible few years, and lost all my savings and retirement due to divorce and unemployment. I and his father have no resources for him to attend college.

This boy obviously should be in the running for scholarships and aid. And indeed he is...he's really deserving.

The prayer I am asking is that God, if it is for the best in my son's future, brings my son the financial resources he needs to attend college and start his future. If it's not forthcoming, the prayer is for my son to not lose hope and work his way slowly into that education even if it takes longer than for other kids.

I just want what's best for a really deserving and good young person who's about to start his future. Please pray for him, we need people like this to be our country's future.
Thanks!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7211951

Lord, we ask for guidance for this young boy. Only you know the direction that is best for his life. We ask for your blessing on this child and for your Holy Spirit to guide him in the direction that he should go. Let Your will be done Lord in this young boy's life.

The verse below is to a group, but it is instructing the individuals. It does not indicate group prayer, nor group singing.

if you pray for one another....then you are going to have to give your requests....or people won't know what to pray for:

"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective"

James 5:16

There is POWER when 2 or more pray:

"Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Re: The Prayer Request Thread - Everyone is Welcome - We Will Pray For You!
I feel quite alone at the moment. I am moving to a new state to take a new job far away from friends and family. Unfortunately that is the easy part. I have encountered a bit of legal difficulty that has potential to create serious problems in my life and threaten my earning potential. This at a point where I felt I would be able to get myself closer to my Lord and begin earnest tithing that I have been lax with in the past. I have been slowly but surely evolving into someone who wants to truly understand the Word of God and I am afraid I could lose my will. Without going into detail I did not harm anyone, either directly or indirectly, I just made a stupid mistake. I fear that I will lose my opportunity to do something with my life that has the potential to have real meaning for me and to God. I hope somebody will pray for a resolution that will enable me to continue on a path that I hope will bring me closer to God and to understanding his purpose for me.

"Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." (1 Cor 13:4-7 NKJV)

maybe ask for bible believing friends. or maybe start or go to a local bible study, big box churches have them, alot. ask some one for coffee to go over the new ideas, that way you will have a better chance of finding a new common interest friend. luvy_lovin

Dear LORD,

Please help this person with the temptations that they face daily. Help them be strong in their weaknesses and find a way of escape. I also ask that you would bring some fellow believers into their life so they don't have to face their Christian walk alone.

I ask this in JESUS's NAME, amen.

Thank you and I pray will God Bless everyone on this thread.

Dear LORD,

Please help Drew at his point of need. Give him the wisdom and direction he needs right now as well as resolution to continue on the narrow path that leads to YOU. Let him receive the wisdom, revelation and knowledge of our LORD JESUS CHRIST. Draw him closer and closer to YOU in complete submission and obedience.

I pray this in JESUS's NAME, amen.

Re: The Prayer Request Thread - Everyone is Welcome - We Will Pray For You!
This is a wonderful thread.

I do have a couple of requests.
That my mother will be delivered from
bladder problems and arthritis.

I ask for healing for my uncle who has cancer.
And, that my sister in law will come through
open heart surgery with no complications.

I also ask for prayers that my husband will
be delivered from anger issues and from
alcohol addiction.
And, finally for myself that I will make
the right decisions that will be best
for me and my situation.

God bless all of you.

Hi! My Husband left me and our 3 kids this week. No reason he just walked out and took his things. I am terribly upset and so are the kids! We really need prayers that he will come home and that we can save our marriage! Thank you!!!

Lord,
We ask for a healing and reconciliation for this family. We know it is not your will to have a family break up as the family arrangement is your arrangement and it is good. Please give this woman and her children strength and peace right now, and please turn her husband back to that he will realize his error and come back to his family.

In Jesus Name

Thank you so much for your prayers. 30 mins after I posted this my Husband contacted me and said he loved me and asked me if he could come home! It's is amazing because he has been gone for 4 days. He wouldn't answer his phone at all. God does answer prayers!!!
