Today, they put a smart meter on my house.

I saw a smart meter truck in my neighborhood months ago but never had one installed. Weird.

What is this Smart Meter, and how do you know if you have one?

i rent last year we had a register if you didnt want one...somehow i got away with saying "dont put that thing anywhere near me" and the guy left....now in my state they are mandatory....i moved...they installed one yesterday for me too.

The notice is on my meter.
I sent a registered letter to the power company and my dog is guarding the front of my house.
If all that fails I have a baseball bat.
After I get out of jail... I leave the country and let someone younger take up the fight.

I had called my electric company last week and left a message they are never to put a smart meter on my house!

We have a petition in certain districks in canada about those fucken, hell yeah , those fucken countors that may be allot worse than wi-fi. Maybe even cancirogene. Anyways maybe we should all smash just the counter (too have electricity anyways)

When they attached one to my place (rental), they tripped the power 5-6 times. no notification to turn the breakers off.
Fuckers coulda burned my place down and fried all my electronics. Gave the asshole a piece of my mind. got the "its just my job" line in return.

Smart meters can be HACKED as well.
Just read some crazy crap from MIT and Columbia University about this a few days ago.

I just got one installed on my house yesterday. The power company sent me a letter 2 weeks ago saying within the next thirty days they were going to install one, and a couple days before they were going to send out another letter confirming the day and time they were going to do so. They never sent that second letter and they wedged a piece of paper in my front door between the weather stripping that they had successfully installed the power meter. If I had know what day they were going to do this, I would had told them I refuse. I guess now with the new power meters, its paving the way for hourly rated changes in price per kWh which means higher bills in the long run. Can't win in this world anymore.

Those smart meters are also dangerous for your health. I researched this after I stayed at a friend's apartment that had smart meters everywhere. Dr. Bill Deagle has some good info regarding this.

My ceo's pay went from $300,000 10 years ago to $7+ million last year. How else are they going to keep giving him raises if they don't find ways to increase rates?

Can't u tell if they're overcharging by lookin at ur bill? I have a estimate of how much I use a month, doubled the next month would cause alarms to go off but I guess that's just me.

You need to do some research on this topic.

This is helpful:

Way less dangerous than cell phones and their towers.

Cell phones transmit all the time.
Meters transmit in bursts. About 5 seconds per 24 hours.

So if you think meters are dangerous, throw away your cell phones and get in the face of any one using a cell phone and make them turn it off, then get the 99%ers to camp out at all the cell towers across the land and get the phone companies to go back to landline only.

Let me know how it goes, that is if your brain doesn't melt first from the cell phone rf being bounced in all around you, all the time, even when you sleep, even if you wear a tinfoil hat, the rf will find a way in.

I had one. The electric co. would deduct 10% off you're bill for being a good GREEN citizen. To make a long story short, last summer was so hot the damn thing would cycle my central air on and off for a set period of time that my house wouldn't cool. Apparently enough people complained that when i called they told me they had heard enough and told me I could go outside, open the little box, and pull out this card and that would kill the damn thing. That took care of it all right,,nice cool house after that. And only for a measly 10% more out of pocket.

I work for the main power company here in Dallas and they're installing them everywhere. There's some pro's and con' s with the them. I don't know how it is around the rest of the country but here you can bitch and gripe all you want but eventually if you want electricity you're going to have to have one. Locking your gate or not letting them in your backyard won't stop it they'll just cut you off at the pole or trip off the transformer until you have one in place. The main reason our company likes them because the ghetto rats in south Dallas can't steal meters anymore because the new smart meters have a tracking device in them. Also people can't pay the meter readers to turn in a lower reading. If your worried about them being able to shut your power off at anytime with them then I have news for you. They can without them with what they call SCADA devices installed throughout the distribution grid.
