The west had a blockade of USSR and would not take even GOLD as payment for the heavy machines that USSR had to acquire to start the industrialization.They would only take grain which with other factors lead to the mass starvation on the Ukraine.
Stalin saved the world at least 3 times,once from the permanent revolution,once from Hitler and once from the USA by developing nuclear capability.The trouble is kids learn that Stalin is a villain all their life,at school,from the TV,other people,books,etc. What an average western person knows about Stalin and USSR is a lie at least 80% of it.
If people in the west knew the actual truth about Stalin and USSR of his years we would be living in a different era.
