One more thing you can do... it will take 1 minute of your time per day.

Go to Google and youtube and do a search for:

Google is evil
Google antichrist
Google is tracking you
etc.

A GLP member came with the idea and since then I'm doing this on a daily basis. My way to tell them to

Why not use Yandex, the Russian search engine?

I use it all the time with no problems.

It's in English, and there's no sponsor ads.

Try it out and see if you find what you're looking for.

WOW, so much helpful and useful information.

Thank you all, please keep it flowing through, there are now a lot more viewers getting this info and if they send it to all their "contacts" in their email accounts, this really will make a difference.

All I can say is a huge thank you and just hope that you toggle across your programs to spread the message...google is what?...do we really need it...not really...so help your friends and stop their data mining, profiteering and totally repulsive intrusion into our valued privacy for pure unadulterated profit...what inappropriate greed is that???

typical corporate manovering behind faceless operations just for the pure greedy bastards on this planet...they all need to be re-educated in to what is an acceptable practice rather than the blood sucking practices they have been preying on.

They need to be exposed as the worst of the worst of the predators on this planet and none of us need them, they suck and take but never contribute.

Their days should be gone sooner rather than later.

their stock market games are already fu##ing this world into another crisis that we didnt need o have , nor should we accept those consequences...somebody IS profiteering from all this...follow the money...

Great thing about this search engine is, you can change the colors of the site to how you like. They have plenty of settings to play about with like privacy settings, Result settings & Interface settings....

Still room for improvement but works exactly like I want it too....Worth a try.

In recent times we have been told that Google intends to change its policies regarding sharing information it collects on us.

Naturally this is an untennable and totally obnoxious concept to our valued privacy.

Even Microsoft according to a side heading on todays GLP's main page..the third of Feb 2012, have very publicly criticized Google's intentions, with a heavy advertising campaign, and rightfully so.

Fortunately there is a simple cure that will circumvent this intrusion, all you need to do is to copy and paste the following into your existing browsers "Start Page"
I use IE, so I can only vouch for its use there and it appears to be functioning perfectly.

Dump Chrome for Firefox or IE

Dump Gmail for ?

We need a list of everything Google does - and alternates available.

Google makes their money from advertising - CTR (click through rates) are the benchmark. NEVER click on any Google links to businesses. Instead, just cut & paste the URL into the browser (seperate window might help?) - you still get where you want to go, but advertisers will see traffic from Google wither.

In fact, that would be a neat plug-in, something that would bypass Google when clicking on anything, yet still use their search engine.

I've been thinking about this...

It seems that we live in an age of "transparency", an age when nothing can remain hidden for long. And this includes hiding from oneself. Therefore, does it really matter which search engine we use? Im sure there are ways for any site to be "watched". So it seems that we just need to be conscious of how we run our energy. If one has nothing to hide, what do we have to be worried about?

Re: GOOGLE'S PRIVACY CHANGES- A SIMPLE INSTANT CURE FOR EVERYONE
I just tried startpage on an advanced image search I was doing earlier today with google, and got far superior results. Startpage gave me image results with the search term being the dominant theme or title of the article in a particular domain. Google gave me mostly results where the search term was just found some where in the article, and not an important theme. In other words, page after page of useless results. Startpage delivered lots of specific images from the first page of results on.

And that is the result of a scientific experiment I conducted today. Startpage was by far most efficient as an image search engine.

Completely true.

but....
I still dont want my brother, sister, neighbour, or anyone else knowing what I think...or feel...

for crying out loud, we as a species are turning into a commnity of ants...and sorry I am an individual...

I have my own thoughts and feelings and I value the fact that I own those things, they are what makes me...me...

so..if you are happy being an ant and being totally controlled and directed throughout your entire life, well I feel sorry that you have lost your identity, because that really IS where you are now.

Have a sit back and a re-think about that you really are prostituting yourself to, media spin, why, so what, it makes you feel good, well thats how youve been conditioned and you need to look at that deeply.

good luck with that, I dont think you will get past first base, you have been too conditioned.

I know there is another post today on using alternative search engines to protect data collection from Google. That only hides your searches and is only a part of the problem. They still track you through the actual websites you visit via IP address and other forms which i will explain. It doesnt matter what platform you use for searches OR email. Google, yahoo, hotmail or Bing, it doesnt matter they are All interconnected through big corporations which sell your data at the highest bidder (google and Homeland Security). They are ALL being tracked by Google.

Google uses something called "GOOGLE ANALYTICS". Its hidden in MOST website. For non tech savyy people, you dont even know its there. Its called a "script". They are used to build websites and also hidden in the ads. Google is so big now, most domains and website developers use Google scripts. Mostly because of ease of use, advertising, and popularity. That is their tracking mechanism. If you right click on a website and select "page source" and search "Google". You will get TONS of scripts hidden within these pages. For example if you go to Facebook, you will see these scripts being used. Hence the ads on the right tailored to ONLY you and your "likes".

So when you visit all these sites, that data is collected in a big f*cking Google database which is tailored to your IP address. Just from your algorithms they can sense who you are from other computers. Pretty scary sh*t huh? To top it off, Google is also intertwined with the NSA. [link to www.pcworld.com] . Their excuse is saying they are using the NSA for "technical assistance". They want data on everyone who uses the web. This will eventually lead to who will be ALLOWED on the web when they start assigning licensing through facial recognition, thumb print, or smartcard scanning (RFID).Which these Bill’s they are trying to pass, will eventually lead to that.

If you want REAL privacy for an email account that isn’t being tracked, look for private encrypted email services, such as mutemail.com or hushmail.com. It encrypts ALL traffic email on offshore servers where privacy laws are more strict internationally. Using hotmail or yahoo or something "mainstream is just as bad. I use to think the same until i got more involved with IT and hacking.

If you want REAL website browsing privacy, you can do two things. To hide your IP address, there are multiple software programs available to you as a low price to hide your identity. Sometimes, this can even be no good because some websites like Google or godlikeproductions, won’t even allow you on their site because they can sense you are using a IP address hider. So to at least hide your algorithms, you can use a Google analytics script blocker. DO NOT USE THE ONE GOOGLE PROVIDES. And yes, use Startpage.com or Scroogle.org, to do your searches. I am an IT/Ethical hacker, everything I told you is 100% truth. Don’t let the world wide web, catch you in it’s grasp.

It is therefore blocked.

Here....easier for you to read how to do it than for me to go into it and say basically the same thing.
