Quoting: arkay Naturally this is an untennable and totally obnoxious concept to our valued privacy. Even Microsoft according to a side heading on todays GLP's main page..the third of Feb 2012, have very publicly criticized Google's intentions, with a heavy advertising campaign, and rightfully so. Fortunately there is a simple cure that will circumvent this intrusion, all you need to do is to copy and paste the following into your existing browsers "Start Page" I use IE, so I can only vouch for its use there and it appears to be functioning perfectly. Here it is... [link to www.startpage.com (secure)] If anyone can find fault or further endorse this Im certain everyone will appreciate the information being supplied. it says 'enhanced by Google'? Easy to load. Optional app to keep on desktop to let you know when you've got any mail. I use it for some business and government stuff, just to keep them separate, and have no problems with it. |

Quoting: Spittin'Cesium Destroy the NSA with a Button..Join us,unjoin Facebook. +1 get off facebook, google, windows, android, apple and you are one step closer to untrackable freedom and most importantly FREE THOUGHT With all the negative attacks in recent times involving the internet, in one form or another... It is my absolute belief that we all now need to come together as a world wide community, maybe using something new like bluetooth, (yes , I am being nieve) but we need to do something that protects us and our rights to free speech and the sharing of ideas and concepts without government or corporate controls., It really is time for the best and most creative people in our world wide network to find and introduce a fresh and totally protected apparatus for the internet to work no matter who wants to try to influence or restrict its freedoms and use for all the people of this world. We finally have a tool that can stop cruelty, butchery, starvation, and all sorts of inhumane activities that various independant mongrols have been able to get away with for years...now we can shape the world...not just those that placed themselves in positions of influence...they will now be the targets if they are not careful. we really have arrived at a time where ... WE THE PEOPLE CAN AND WILL CHANGE OUR WORLD AND IT STARTS PRETTY SOON....YES??? |

After one minute of browsing, you'll see how many trackers are following you... and most of them are Google. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 9896244 Belgium 02/03/2012 12:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hmmm. I just tried Scroogle, did a search for 'godlike' and this is the result: Forbidden so sorry... Google is temporarily blocking this Scroogle server. Please wait ten minutes before trying again. Yes, Scroogle is upset with Google. 1. Google handles 1 billion searches per day, while Scroogle handles 350,000 searches per day. This means that Scroogle is 0.035 percent of Google's load. 2. Google uses 900,000 servers, while Scroogle leases just six low-end dedicated servers. 3. Google has billions and billions of dollars in the bank, while Scroogle is a recognized public charity and survives on modest donations averaging $43 per day. 4. For more than seven years, Scroogle has always made serious efforts to detect and block any and all bots. Almost every Scroogle searcher is a live person clicking on a mouse. Yet Google treats Scroogle like a bot because they see the traffic from our six IP addresses as higher than normal. Searching Google with a bot is against Google's terms of service, but Scroogle users are not bots. Is it "Terms of Service" for Google, or is it "Terms of Monopoly"? |

mehitable User ID: 1524722 United States 02/03/2012 12:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It may seem that way, but you probably had a much bigger impact than you think. I've set startpage as my home page and have stopped directly using Google search. I'm going to gradually migrate away from other Google products as I find substitutes. Even if I continue to use one or two Google products, they don't have to have EVERYTHING I use. That's when companies like Google become a problem....when they control EVERY aspect of a particular area. It's never good to have one major supplier of goods or services. |
waterlily User ID: 9491423 United States 02/03/2012 12:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I just tried startpage on an advanced image search I was doing earlier today with google, and got far superior results. Startpage gave me image results with the search term being the dominant theme or title of the article in a particular domain. Google gave me mostly results where the search term was just found some where in the article, and not an important theme. In other words, page after page of useless results. Startpage delivered lots of specific images from the first page of results on. And that is the result of a scientific experiment I conducted today. Startpage was by far most efficient as an image search engine. *********** WaterLily *********** " Do I dare Disturb the universe?" -- T. S. Elliot, Love Song of J. I know there is another post today on using alternative search engines to protect data collection from Google. That only hides your searches and is only a part of the problem. They still track you through the actual websites you visit via IP address and other forms which i will explain. It doesnt matter what platform you use for searches OR email. Google, yahoo, hotmail or Bing, it doesnt matter they are All interconnected through big corporations which sell your data at the highest bidder (google and Homeland Security). They are ALL being tracked by Google....READ MORE Thread: ***THIS IS HOW YOU "REALLY" PROTECT YOURSELF FROM GOOGLE!!!!**** "Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples' liberty's teeth."
