Don't know if anyone suggested this, but ixquick is not like startpage - which is google enhanced. Been using it for a couple of months and it works very well.

Glad this is finally getting some press; I've been recommending this since before starting existed, and there was only ixquick.

Also, a great alternative to Chrome is the original Chromium, where Google stole Chrome from. You can even have both on the same computer. [link to www.readwriteweb.com]
