If you dont ever intend to conceal carry it you want a full size Glock. Not a Compact.
So your choice is a G17, G22 or G21
These are 9mm .40 and .45 caliber
9mm and .40 guns are the same size and the .45 is slightly bigger.
If you are a big guy get a .45
Its the heaviest but has the best stopping power.
.40 cal is nice but the ammo is more expensive then 9mm.
You could get a G22 .40 cal and put a 9mm Conversion Barrel in it to shoot 9mm for target practice. Then go back to the .40 cal for defense rounds.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7340804 sound advice thanks. I'm not a big guy at all. 5'6.5 and small hands. Is there any realistic risk of a 9mm round not stopping someone compared to a .40? Quoting: Mojofabulous That's what 15 round clips were made for. By the way, if you are not a big guy, with big hands, get yourself the Glock 19. It's the more compact version of the 17, and holds 15 rounds. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10132438 Thanks
