If you dont ever intend to conceal carry it you want a full size Glock. Not a Compact.
So your choice is a G17, G22 or G21
These are 9mm .40 and .45 caliber
9mm and .40 guns are the same size and the .45 is slightly bigger.
If you are a big guy get a .45
Its the heaviest but has the best stopping power.
.40 cal is nice but the ammo is more expensive then 9mm.
You could get a G22 .40 cal and put a 9mm Conversion Barrel in it to shoot 9mm for target practice. Then go back to the .40 cal for defense rounds.

That's what 15 round clips were made for. By the way, if you are not a big guy, with big hands, get yourself the Glock 19. It's the more compact version of the 17, and holds 15 rounds. Thanks
