You have no idea what kinds of things regulate chaplains... chaplains of all denominations... in the military, and Catholics in particular.

I Will bet you didn't know that Catholic chaplains are the ONLY US service persons who are necessarily VOLUNTEERS. That's right, the church can order priests to serve in the US armed forces!

They no longer have to abide by an oath of poverty, and should they serve out a full career, are entitled to both priest and officer pensions.

Like all US Armed Service persons, they lose the ability to exercise several key aspects codified within the Bill of Rights (to include freedom of speech/press).

They must comply with, and not break, all articles within the UCMJ.

And finally, oh yes, they must... just like every other service person... OBEY THE LAWFUL ORDERS OF THE OFFICERS APPOINTED ABOVE THEM. And 'lawful' would include not reading to one's congregation any materials that would be considered seditious. I have not read the article, but I bet "sedition" or "seditious" appear within the text!
