Tips on how to get rid of cigarette smoke smell

First start rolling your own. I quit marlboro when they started that fire safe shit and as soon as I start rolling natural indian tobacco my wife and non smoking friends all commented how it didn't smell near as bad. Not to mention it's 1/10th the cost and you smoke less because you have to roll one when you want it. Second if you're smoking in the car, don't use the ashtray and keep passenger window cracked half as much as drivers. Use your left hand and keep it on the wheel between puffs so all the drift goes straight out. Just those 2 things will make a world of difference.

As far as the house goes, paint the ceiling, wash the curtains.

Try switching to an all natural 100 percent no additive tobacco.

Nat Shermans are an excellent brand.

It is all the chemicals that are found in most cigs that cause cancer and much of the stinky smell.

I don't use the ashtray in my car, in fact I don't think it even has one. lol I never smoke with the windows up.

I'll try changing what I smoke.. I never thought about that.

I know my brand smells way worse than what other people smoke. I like Camel Turkish Royals.. It seems to get into every crack, fabric, and hair follicle. And it leaves behind an uber nasty thick yellow smoker's film on my car windows.

I know I can go spend a lot of money getting the car fumigated, but I'd just rather do it a cheaper way.

This^ and once a month run an ozone machine in your car on high for a few hrs. Once you allow the ozone to clear your car won't smell like smoke anymore. Just make sure the ac fan is running so it get's in the air system too.

Designate a smoking jacket for yourself. You only wear it when you smoke. In the summer make it a smoking "shirt". The smoke stays with it.

After smoking, go brush your teeth. These two items alone will make a big difference.

I don't smoke in the house thank God. I'd probably smell way worse.. I made a little smoking lounge in the garage with a little space heater. I used to smoke in my last house, and was having a lot of problems with allergies.

Tobacco smells like all the worst mixed together while weed smells like slightly bad poo

I think weed smells like a flowery skunk. I've learned to actually like the smell of skunk when I'm driving down the road and whatnot, even though it's for sure different than the smell of weed. They just smell a lot alike.

Kinda gross when you think about it. lol

Baking soda does a great job of eliminating oder also...

Vinegar!!!

Wash your clothes, linens, put it in a humidifier, wash down your walls with it etc...

Vinegar is the only thing that will actually neutralize the odor and not just mask it.

mix it like 25% vinegar to 75% water.

google ozone blaster.

im a smoker and the absolute best thing is an enzyme based pet deoderizer. these are made to EAT organic oders including smoke. spray carpets, curtains, upholstery etc.

cheap safe and effective.

Interesting that opening windows helps to clean because its the ozone in the air\ at low concentrations that cleans, not just the air replacement, or the mechanical action of air molecules displacing smoke molecules.

It's what keeps nature fresh. Ozone kills decaying bacteria, viruses etc. Some air cleaners have ozone generators built in.

Rainbow brezzers are pretty good also.

there is an orange spray (pure citrus or pure orange?)sold with air fresheners that works well. Also at Naturesgardencandles.com find the smoke eliminator fragrance oil. It smells like lemonheads and you can use the oil to make your own sprays.

I work with a lady who smokes. Geez, she STINKS! She's training too and she frequently comes to my desk to ask me questions. The stench of smoke on her is stale and strong I could seriously vomit. She drinks tons of coffee then goes out for a smoke. The smell lingers on her all day.


Geez, smokers have no idea how bad they reek. She exudes and emits such a foul, strong offensive odor.

Simple stop smoking and the smell will stop.

An open bowl placed in a room with a little vinegar in it will absorb and eliminate odors very well for a day or two before you have to refresh it.

We smoke in the house and in the vehicle. Non smokers are always very surprised to enter our house and find out that we smoke.. 3 smokers in the house.
I have an Oreck air cleaner going all the time.. and we have an ecoquest "sea breeze unit" we use once a year. The sea breeze unit ozonates the air..cannot be in the house or vehicle when you run it..so we do it when we are leaving for the day, and taking our 2 dogs with us.
There is no smoke smell in our house or vehicle.. and our clothes never smell of smoke when they come out of the laundry...smoking outside when it's cold, yes, our clothes then do smell of smoke... even when I smoke so the wind or air takes the smoke away..it seems to comes back to the nearest, warmth.. and that unfortunately is my jacket, so I do launder it once a week to keep the odour down as much as I can.
