They should not attend, since they are in very serious sin, and don't follow what Jesus said.

The pharisees were very "religious" (and hypocrite) people to...

You know what Jesus said about the pharisees...

Re: You CAN'T be a racist and a Christian at the same time
Many, maybe most, Christians are racist.

They hold the Jewish race above all her neighbors. They are willing, perhaps eager, to go to war to destroy another people because of their love for the jewish people.

It is funny that their ignorance does not allow them to understand that their meddling in the affairs of others is not helping establish any form of peace.

We, the US, hide behind the veil of love and peace, while we opening seek to control, weaken, even destroy Iran.

Educate yourself. Hatred disguised as love is still hatred. Bigotry disguised as Christianity.. is still bigotry.

BTW.. I am a Christian. I may fall out of step with some of today's Christians... but I am following the path that Christ left behind. May all men damn me, as long as Jesus claims me as his own.

Actually they seem to go together. Not all racists are Christian and not all Christians are racist but there seems to be a very big overlap. The similarity seems to be closeminded ignorance which they both seem to have a large dose of.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

you just need to look at all the cultures that Christians have determined as Savages to understand that.

Racism is not hate. Thats a very simpleminded view to have, thinking racism and hate are the same things.
Let me point out that I am a racist, and I dont hate anyone.
Im more of a separatist. I do not hate blacks, I just dont want them living around me, working with me, or going to school with my kids. Would I help a black person in need of help? Absolutely, I have many times. But that doesnt mean I want them around me. The Bible does preach the separation of the races. I simply agree with it.
Example of this: I dont hate Alligators, but I really dont want them swimming in my backyard pool. If I saw an alligator and the side of the road that needed help...Aboslutely I would stop and help it.
Also, I dont hate the jewish or israel, In fact I very much support israel and think we should be doing more to help them exterminate the infestation they are suffering in their country.

Re: You CAN'T be a racist and a Christian at the same time
The Security of the Believer:

Perseverance of the Saints

Scripture teaches that the elect are those whom God set apart, effectually called, sanctified by the Spirit, and justified. These will be glorified—nothing in all of creation can separate them from the love of God (cf. Rom. 8:28ff.).

The assertion that one can forfeit or lose his righteousness/justification after being imputed with the righteousness of Jesus Christ, God the Son (cf. Rom. 44:4-8), theologically misapprehends both the sufficiency of the perfect work of Christ and the biblical doctrine of justification. The notion that justification is temporary implies that creaturely performance (good behavior, obedience, love, etc.) is required to maintain a righteous status before God, which is consistent with Roman Catholicism, not biblical theology.

Before examining the biblical evidence for perseverance of the saints, an important fact must be stated: perseverance of the saints does not mean that anyone who merely professes “Jesus Christ” is sealed and saved for eternity. Only true believers have eternal life.[1] For those whom God regarded (elected) as His own, He called to Himself, declared them righteous by imputing them with the perfect righteousness of His Son. These, Jesus says, will be resurrected to life (cf. John 6:39). God infallibly saves and brings all of His beloved to glorification: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!” (Isa. 43:1; cf. 54:10; Jer. 32:40).

Re: You CAN'T be a racist and a Christian at the same time
Christ brought us a NEW TESTAMENT... passing away the old.
 Quoting: GeekOfTheWeek

Sorry but you are mistaken.
Jesus himself said:

Mat 5:17 Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfill.

Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished.

Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

The Old Testament is to be looked at in a different way, but it has not passed away nor has it been changed, it has only been FULFILLED.
It points us to what Righteousness is and to have faith in Christ's atonement for our sin, with out it the New Testament is worthless.

Once the Book of Revelations has been played out, then and only then, will the Law and the Prophets(the Old Testament) no longer be necessary.

You CAN'T be a racist and a Christian at the same time. You have to choose one of the two options.

Jesus Christ was born from a Jewish mother.

Jesus Christ had 12 Jewish apostles.

Jesus Christ told the Parable of the Good Samaritan for a reason:

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

Samaritans were hated by Jesus' target audience, the jewish people, to such a degree that the Lawyer's phrase "The one who had mercy on him" may indicate a reluctance to name the Samaritan. The Samaritans in turn hated the jewish people. Tensions were particularly high in the early decades of the first century because Samaritans had desecrated the Jewish Temple at Passover with human bones.

As the story reached those who were unaware of the oppression of the Samaritans, this aspect of the parable became less and less discernible: fewer and fewer people ever heard of them in any context other than as a description. Thus cast appropriately, the parable regains its message to modern listeners: namely, that an individual of a social group they disapprove of can exhibit moral behavior that is superior to individuals of the groups they approve.

Jesus was against the hatred and racial prejudice between Jewish people and Samaritans.

In the first years of Christianity, the two main "racial" groups of Christians were the Jewish Christians, and the Greek Christians.

But the Bible says, on Galatians 3:28:

"There is neither jewish nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

The reason for this to be in the Bible is: Christians should not be divided on racial groups. God loves everyone equally, and racial divisions should not exist. That's why the Bible warned that divisions between "Jewish and Greek" should not exist in the Early Christianity.

Re: You CAN'T be a racist and a Christian at the same time
ummm the OT was NEVER done away with! Afterall, EVERY text Jesus and the apostles quote was from the OLD TESTAMENT because the NEW TESTAMENT didn't even exist at the time! If you do away with the OT you do away with over 50% of the NT!! The old covenant was done away with. The old covenant was having to take lambs to the sanctuary, confess your sins on them, slay them, do the Day of Atonement and other feast days, etc. JESUS did away with that! it was nailed to the cross! Jesus FULFILLED the ceremonial law! He WAS the lamb slain from the foundation of the world! All the ceremonial laws pointed FORWARD to Jesus and what he would accomplish for us on the cross, but it did NOT do away with the writings of the Old Testaments, of which MOST is prophecies about Jesus and even things that will happen at the end of time!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4990480

So... if the law of the old testament that said it is okay to stone people to death was not meant to be changed by the change of mens HEARTS then why did he save the woman from being stoned? He asked " Who condems you?" She replied after she looked around and saw that everyone was gone "No one Lord" He replied " Neither do I. Go and sin no more". That is part of the New Covenant.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4027933

The story about the woman caught in adultery was almost surely not a part of the original text. If you have one of the major translations (such as ESV or NASB), they will have a footnote at the bottom saying that this story is not to be found in most of the oldest manuscripts. Most likely it was inserted later by someone.

But even if it was a part of the Bible, that story wouldn't prove your point. Jesus never said that stoning was a bad thing. Have you noticed that the male adulterer never shows up in this story? It takes two to tango, so where's the man? Jesus realized there was something fishy about her accusers' story, so he said that she should be let go. He never said stoning was a bad thing. He only suggested that she shouldn't be stoned.

Re: You CAN'T be a racist and a Christian at the same time
21 And Jesus went away from there, and withdrew into the district of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And behold, a Canaanite woman came out from that region, and began to cry out, saying, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is cruelly demon-possessed." 23 But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came to Him and kept asking Him, saying, "Send her away, for she is shouting out after us." 24 But He answered and said, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." 25 But she came and began to bow down before Him, saying, "Lord, help me!" 26 And He answered and said, "It is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs." 27 But she said, "Yes, Lord; but even the dogs feed on the crumbs which fall from their masters' table." 28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, "O woman, your faith is great; be it done for you as you wish." And her daughter was healed at once.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 988185

So Jesus calls the woman a dog because she's a Canaanite? Sounds racist to me.

Conservative beliefs and prejudice linked to low IQs.
Seems to follow (to me anyway) that belief in religion would go hand in hand with this study. Ever notice how throughout time, scientists were put to death by the church for proving the "unprovable"? Remember that the Earth was flat (saying otherwise would get you burned at the stake), then the Solar System revolved around the Earth (saying otherwise would get you burned at the stake). So since religion has been proven to be conjecture (and often lies), then why are there still so many "smart people" following that shit? It would seem that, by the study linked above, that they are dim witted.

Ummm ... which version are YOU reading?

Leviticus 25:44-46

"As for your male and female slaves whom you may have: you may buy male and female slaves from among the nations that are around you. 45 You may also buy from among the strangers who sojourn with you and their clans that are with you, who have been born in your land, and they may be your property. 46 You may bequeath them to your sons after you to inherit as a possession forever. You may make slaves of them, but over your brothers the people of Israel you shall not rule, one over another ruthlessly."

So it's okay to keep slaves forever and ever, just so long as they're not Israelites. Sounds racist to me.
