"2012-05-11 20:34:25 30.652 138.749 384.1 5.5 IZU ISLANDS, JAPAN REGION"

This is an area to watch. Tokyo University seismologists gave a 70% chance of a magnitude 7+ earthquake happening in the Tokyo bay area (Izu Islands are volcanic islands lying on the same fault line that comes up through Tokyo bay) within the next 4 years. Since the announcement last November, the area has become increasingly more active with real earthquakes you can feel rather than ones deep in the ground.

Recently I've actually been woken up at night time from time to time to a ... I don't really know how to explain it. Feels like the ground below me is dipping a bit, only for a split second.. as if the ground beneath me is slipping (fault slip). I live in eastern Tokyo near Tokyo Bay.

Of course that feeling could just be a symptom of PTSD which I am obviously suffering from even 14 months later.

As for earthquakes "Off the east cost of Honshu," these are all aftershocks of the Tohoku earthquake and will continue to happen for the next several years. There are chances for other large aftershocks to happen and Fukushima does seem to be one of the most active areas for aftershocks for some reason.

In addition to that, seismologists also announced an active fault line lying directly under Mt. Fuji and going straight into Western Tokyo and Kanagawa Prefecture. One day later, there was a small earthquake on the same fault line.

With all of that being said earthquakes are very common in Japan and happen on a daily and very regular basis, all over Japan. Unfortunately, I've felt more earthquakes in the past year than probably any of you will feel in your entire lives. :P
