Just research the topic. There must be 100 such quotes. The pope's official title is Pontifex Maximus. He claims to be god on earth--the second person of the trinity in place of Jesus.

The Bible supports no such claim. There is no earthly representative for Jesus.

We in fact do not need any church. We need the Bible only since that is God's word and the reason He preserved it for us. God's 10C law is his character and we may know him thru his word. The word of God is bread--not bread & circus super bowl that leaves one's head empty after it is over.

The Catholic Church is a tool of the devil. The Pope is Satan's representative on Earth.

I am Byzantine Catholic. We have seperate clergy from the Roman Catholic Church, but are still under the Pope. We are identical in liturgy to the Orthodox.Some of our priests are married, depending where they were from, and where they were ordained into the priesthood. Until the 1920's ALL Byzantine Catholic priests were allowed to be married. Then the Roman Catholic priests and bishops in the USA objected to this. As a result, only the Byzantine Catholic priests other than the ones from the United States, can be married. They can be married and ordained in any country but the USA.
They can come here to the USA from all other countries, even though they are married and ordained, and serve a church. The Roman Catholic Church has many problems, but so do other churches and synagoges in the world. Pedophiles are not in an exclusive Catholic club.As for the other problems with the Roman Catholic Church, IMO, the politicians who dare to call themselves Catholic, and go against the 10 commandments, need to be booted out of the church.Their bad example, which needs to be removed, is what is causing the lack of credibility in the church today. Faith has no room for political correctness. The laws of God allow for no such wiggle room for blatant disrespect of His laws.
REAL Catholics, no matter what branch of the church they are, worship no one but God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, the Trinity. You can revere others, and ask for intercession from others, but worship is God's alone. Intercession is OK, and sometimes it is a really good thing to have a friend in the court of the King.
The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus, when he told Peter that he was the rock on which He would build His Church. All the others split away from the true church over time, because of some small differences of opinion, or some reasons that appeared to be legitimate at the time. IMO, they should have stayed and fought for what the Church was supposed to be, and stopped the abuses, instead of running away.

As an ex-Catholic who disavowed himself while in high school some 35 years ago, and could see the bull-shit and corruption even at that age, I have a problem with hard-core Catholics, who stick their head in the sand like many of the sheeple. As a child I was taken out of catholic school because the teachers were abusive and my parents got a visit the night before I was going to my first day of public school from the priest and he tried to talk them out of it. How surprised I was to find myself in a school with kind teachers and nice students. It was hard to understand why the mean people were going to heaven and the nice people were going to hell. I was in Catholic school too through 6th grade. I got into a lot of trouble back then.

I think the school thought I was evil. I will not elaborate on some of the things I did. But remember, that a priest visited my parents for a long conversation about me, and I was told to stay in my room. Toward the end of the meeting, I was called out to see the priest and my parents. The priest went to shake my hand.. and I still remember, saying "how ya doing man?". There was some awkward laughter,and that was it.

In high-school, although back in public school, my parents forced me to go to church with them, ususally on a Saturday evening mass. I tried to listen to the homily, and heard so much bull-shit and counterintuitive BS, I knew that this was not for me. As a Senior in high school, was of age to drink, and still remember my parents making me go by myself to church. Was so hungover one day, sat in the back pugh, and had to run out just to ralph all over the entrance to the church. Soon after that, had a conversation with my parents on forcing religion on a person, even if they did not believe in the BS being spewed. Answer was --"As long as you live under our roof, you do as we say". Well, I told them let's go meet with the priest and see what he has to say. Needless, to say, I won that argument, and no more pressure.
