That eagle kinda looked like the golden eagle on that nazi symbol. I don't know what to call it.

Nazi Eagle/Falcon symbol?
Is the bird of prey that was a symbol for Nazi Germany an Eagle, Falcon, Hawk, Kestrel, or anything else? I think it's a Falcon but it could be an Eagle. Your thoughts history buffs?

As stated above, it is an eagle patterned after the Roman Eagle which was one of the symbols of power/governance carried into battle.
I would suggest, for the fun of it, reading the novel "Eagle of the Ninth" if you can find it. I studied in high school and enjoyed it. Gives you a little insight into the Roman occupation of the British Isles.
