Most Americans are too fat to fight much. However, those who can waddle around would probably shoot their neighbors who disagreed with them on something/anything.
How would it start? Why not when televangelists tell their flocks "kill the cockroaches!" Just like in Rwanda a few years ago.
How would it end? Maybe it wouldn't. Just upsurges and downsurges over a long time.
