Influenza cretainly seems to be on the increase early this year in the US.

Of note also are the differing strains that seem to be appearing almost simultaneously, this also includes a case of H1N1, which could be a bit unexpected at this early point in time.


State Confirms Flu Cases In Berrien County

The flu has been confirmed in Berrien County. Michigan Department of Community Health spokeswoman Angela Minicucci says Berrien, Huron, Oakland, Saginaw and Washtenaw all have cases so far.

The majority are from the influenza B virus, with two of the influenza A H3N2 and one case of H1N1 from a few years ago. Minicucci says the vaccine available is designed to protect against all of those strains.
