all you have to do is "Decide to become a freemason"
and even has an online application.

They also point out that their Grand Orient masonry is not to be confused with American Freemasonry, And that theirs is a secular organization while other forms of freemasonry are religious organizations. and in the same breath claim famous American masons like George Washington And Benjamin Franklin.

I don't know much about freemasonry, but I know a few masons. Old and young. None have told me much about what goes on, and the masons I know would be offended by such things. I grew up LDS and have noticed alot of similarities there too. From the aprons to symbols and handshakes, and some pretty odd ceremonies that take place inside the temples. And that untill 1984 the Utah Grand Lodge banned LDS members from joining and becoming freemasons.

On that same note I thought it was interesting that this grand orient can admit they aren't masons,
and have no association with masons, then use the same symbol, call themselves the same thing. And even claiming to have the same famous members as the american freemasonry that they admit they are not apart of.
My gut tells me there is something to all of it
but I can't quite identify what it is.

For the record, I don't believe Masons to be some kind of secret church and I don't believe in any of the symbolism mumbo-jumbo. I do, however, believe that there is an extraordinary amount of politicians and high-ranking officials who are members.

I have to believe its actually the Grand Orient Lodge.
They claim to go back to the Grand Lodge of France.
Then claim Benjamin Franklin was a member.
Which makes me think of how Franklin spent so much time in france, and congregating with powerfull people in "Hellfire clubs" with prostitutes.

Only thing is whats it all about? Why do they have to use the same symbols instead of making their own.
