In Safari it is in the "Develop" menu which you first need to activate. On some browsers the Do Not Track is easier to find, on some you need to download an extension. It's not hard and should help to a degree. I bet the online console games such as XBox Live are tracked like crazy too, along with your voice chats. Not sure how to get that fixed…anyone have an idea? How about Steam? Thanks. |

Ghostery is also rather good for stopping LSO's. As a previous poster aid i was quite looking forward to getting a Galaxy S2, i am now holding off. There was also mention that Google's 'one size fits all' was being questioned by the EU, lets see what happens with that I've also stopped using google as a search engine, i was getting well pissed off looking for something at work and then trying to find the same thing at home and getting completely different answers, and then finding that i was having to go 5+ pages down the search before i started getting stuff i wanted as opposed to getting stuff from companies that pay google. ixquick seems pretty good so far and its https and no IP tracking Last Edited by F F S on 02/07/2012 02:25 PM |

I gmailed someone that my clothes dryer needed repairs. Coupons, Sears emails, etc start showing up. Leave me alone!! I never open those emails as I figure they ''report back'' activity. This is a bigger issue than the AT&T monopoly that ''had to be broken up'' long ago. It is WAY more intrusive. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1707801 any better than average street hacker can hack your mic and cam on your device... android has backdoors so you should know that a potential by someone somewhere to record your life stream is there at all times... you need to be aware of this moving forward cause at some future point some of that info can be used against you in the form of blackmail, refusal to render you services by certain organizations or fabricated out of context legal trouble. |

Startpage does not record YOUR IP address, but it does funnel everyone through the one point. So you will be getting results that are BIASED based on what Startpage users normally search for. Ixquick strips ALL identity, so you just get raw, UNBIASED search results. Go to ted.com and look up "beware online filter bubbles" to get some real clarity on how smart search engines try to be. |
