Message Subject My take on Syria

I just wanted to get some opinions on Syria, see if anyone agrees with me.

The way I see it, and in very basic terms, there is an armed opposition to Assad and his regime, and they are trying to knock him out of power. Assad and his military are fighting back against this opposition and innocent people are being "caught in the crossfire". While it's terrible that all these people are dying, why should another country get to come in and say, "well you have an opposition trying to remove you from power, so stop fighting back, step down and hold elections"

Now, lets say that just as a crazy example, the "Occupy movement" here in the U.S. became an armed opposition force and began to fight against our military to gain control of our country. Do you think our military wouldn't fight back? These people would be crushed, and you can't be sure that civilians would be 100% safe. And then lets say Russia came in and said, "ok Obama, you need to stop fighting back against your own people, step down and hold new elections"

How is it any different? I hate to see innocent people being killed, but how would sending in our military (or UN forces) solve any problems? Wouldn't it just lead to more bloodshed?

Sorry OP, but the war-mongering shills won't dare to come into this thread. They're scared you'll rip them several new assholes lol
