Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky will be allowed to see his grandchildren while he awaits his trial for 50 counts of child molestation in Centre County, Pa., a judge ruled today.

Judge John Cleland eased Sandusky’s bail terms ahead of the trial, which is scheduled for May 14. At a hearing last week, Sandusky and his attorneys petitioned the court to ease his bail conditions, while the prosecution asked for stricter conditions, including confining Sandusky inside of his home. They expressed concerns that he was using his back porch to leer at local school children, which the defense dismissed.

Did anyone see Sandusky jump, raise his hands in the air and scream "YES!" after the judges ruling?

Quite the leap of logic there, that he was spying on kids because he was sitting on his back porch. In fact , the whole Sandusky prosecution seems like a witch hunt to me, no real evidence, witnesses that keep changing thier stories, and not a single identified victim despite the fact that many are now adults speaking out.

My guess is Sandusky pissed off the wrong people.
If you want to get rid of someone and shut them up, promulgating a charge of pedophilia is the corrupt Powers that be's choice.

It creates instant disdain from the public, disconnects any rational thought on the subject or consideration the charges may be false, the accused is convicted in the peoples minds instantaneously without any real knowledge of the case, and NO ONE will listen to his side of the story.

Before I make a judgement I want to hear a former victim who is now an adult under his name give a statement to the public, otherwise I am the jurist who remains unconvinced beyond a reasonable doubt that isn't dumb enough to let an accusation or the changing testimony of a person who possibly has a grudge to settle and that of some adult men who were brought up in street wise environment who have millions of dollars to gain . Where is a recent victim who isn't an adult?

To me this whole case stinks, especially the way the media is reporting on it and his lawyer allowed him to do interviews on TV. He should fire his lawyer if he has any sense. I know I would. Doing a tv interview is strategically suicidal, knowing they are going to edit the interview. And as far as this spying on kids story, police have a known tendency to lie and the prosecutor Doesn't give a rats ass if he's guilty or not, he just wants a conviction of a big time celebrity as a notch on his political pistol. That is what is sad about the American justice system.

In the United States, the accused is considered innocent until he either pleads guilty or is convicted in a court of law by a unanimous decision of twelve of his peers. I'll lay 100 to one odds neither ever happenes

Except for the fact that the red head assistant coach saw Sandusky in an inappropriate situation showering with a child and approached Joe Paterno about it.

And that Sandusky wrote a book called "Touched".

And lets not forget that his Second Mile program was targeted towards under-privileged children which would be prime candidates for molestation.

Under privileged children are likely to be street wise and from a hard life, and they see this as an opprotunity to makes some cash in a lawsuit. The street wise kids I've seen don't seem like they are easy victims, either. Most kids that are molested are done so to by family members or friends. I do find his attachment to kids odd, but not necessarily criminal. I think he had a special connection to them for certain, but I'm not convinced either way.

Seems odd to me that with all for the victims, I think 11 in all, not a single one of them stepped forward and gave their story or has been identified. They are waiting to see if he is convicted and then they'll come out of the woodwork with lawsuits.

Let's just say I'm not part of the mob mentality, and I have my reasons for doubting this prosecution is legitimate. Show me some solid evidence and I will believe it. In fact, i think in the absence of physical evidence no person should ever be indicted for any serious crime, no matter how many people accuse him. In a case like this, the alleged victims have a lot to gain by suing the school.
Twenty five ago this case would never had made it past the grand jury for lack of evidence. Now they can indict on probable cause with different rules that only require accusations in child molestation cases. Didn't we learn anything from the witch hunts of the 1600's, the Mc Martin preschool trial and other cases where people were crucified unjustly without evidence on the say so of children? Children DO lie..and adults from hard background will lie to get a million dollars in a heartbeat.
I stick by what i said, Sandusky will never be convicted or plead guilty.

In a case of child molestation, all that is required to obtain an indictment by a grand jury is an accusation, that is considered probable cause and enough to indict, and all that is required to proceed to trial is either physical evidence or an eye witness. It would be pointless for him to endure a pre-trial hearing, he is going to trial for certain and waiving his right to a pre trial hearing was not an admission of guilt. That is ridiculous. It just means his lawyer advised him that there was enough evidence to proceed to trial in the form of an eye witness and several accusers.

In the Mc Martin pre school trial, there were over 200 separate accusations made by dozens of children, some of them outrageous and obviously made up. and not a single story checked out.

They lost everything they had and the accused man spent years in jail because the prosecution lead the child witnesses in interviews , brow beat them, encouraged them lie and bribed them to make specific statements.

In the witch trials the same thing happened, and several women were burned alive in the testimony of children who coerced into claiming they were witches.

No person should ever be convicted on the testimony of a child alone,a child is not a reliable witness and children not only lie, they know they're not going to get in trouble for lying because the prosecution literally tells them that!

The child is not subject to prosecution for lying and no one ever tells them when they are intervened "if you lie, your ass is going to be in a lot of trouble". What they tell them is 'you're not going to get in trouble for anything you say to me or tell me'. I know this for certain , I have seen a taped interview in a trial where I was jurist. I voted not guilty , one of three out of 12 and the trial was a mistrial because I simply said there was no credible evidence of guilt.

Unless there is PHYSCIAL EVIDENCE or a CREDIBLE eye witness, no person should ever be indicted on such an infamous crime.

If a few people really do it and get away with it due to a lack of evidence, that's a hell of a lot better than convicting thousands of people falsely, which is what is happening now with the Constitution being suspended in these cases, allowing hearsay evidence and suspending the accused's right to cross examine the alleged victim.

Under these rules of engagement in such a trial, anyone who is accused can be convicted without evidence or without cross examining the alleged victim. Don't you think that's a problem? It could be YOU that is accused, just piss off some little brat.

Why didn't these two men who said they saw something go directly to the police to protect children?

More likely they didn't go to the police because they would have been filing false statements, which is a class A misdemeanor . If I saw someone molesting a kid, I'd bet him senseless and call the police immediately, so the evidence could be gathered.

This is the most horrible thing that could happen to a child and a parent's worst nightmare.

I find this so abhorrent that I have not been able to listen to or read of any accounts of what happened, nor, do I care to. No, I do not know if this man is guilty or not, but, if he is, and in his mind he does not recognize that what he did was wrong, he is sick, sick, sick, and needs to be put in a cage for the rest of his life!

No, if he did what is alleged, he should not be allowed to watch young children from his back porch. If I was his neighbor I would be watching him 24/7 and reporting any suspious activity!
