:9teen: Do a serious Internet search for your state/city/Vet hospital. There are bound to be others who are or have been in your situation. You need to know how to work the system, who to appeal to. Involve the doctor in a ton of paperwork, make a first class nuisance of yourself. Join a group of others with similar problems. On your own you are easy meat, as part of a group things are different. Anyway best wishes.  Yep, knowledge is power! And while you're at it, start a (fake or real) political movement for the candidate of your choice and watch how the Docs treat you differently when they perceive you have "political pull".
