"Zazz", and the zombie follower, "IS-BE"...this is not a "great start" to 2012. Matter of fact, stocks are STILL trying to recover what they've lost for at least the last TEN YEARS. Yes, that is correct - the S&P and Nasdaq in particular, are about half of what they were in 2000.

What you most certainly did not hear from the brain dead twits on CNBC and MSM is that:

• The NASDAQ is still down 42% from its 2000 high of 5,048
• The S&P 500 is trading at the exact same level it reached on April 8, 1999.

12 or 13 years of zero or negative returns are meaningless when a story needs to be sold. Last Friday the hyperbole utilized by the media mouthpieces was off the charts, leading to an all-out brawl between the critical thinking blogosphere and the non-thinking ”professionals” spouting the government sanctioned propaganda. Accusations flew back and forth about who was misinterpreting the data.

• [Of the] 242 million working age Americans only 142 million are working [which] means for the math challenged, such as CNBC analysts, that 100 million working age Americans (41.5%) are not working. Don’t worry, [though] the BLS says the unemployment rate is only 8.3%! Things are going so swimmingly well in this country. The other 33.2% are kicking back enjoying the good life.

• The labor force participation rate and employment-to-population ratio are at 30 year lows.

These are just a few facts that scratch the surface of the BEHEMOTH of a disease that plagues America.

Still no response to how any of this up swing repays the trillions in unbacked debt propping up the entire world market.

Quadrillions in more debt to add to the trillions? Just keep adding more debt, brilliant solution for a debt problem.

Some awesome numbers out today..did you see those retail numbers? Crushed estimates

Chrysler? Crushed estimates.

Chicago PMI jumping sharply higher.

Spending certainly isnt a problem.

I am, in no way, hoping or wanting a crash. Just pointing out the math. It is simply not possible to pay of the debt that already exists.

There is not enough money value in all the labor and resources of the entire planet to pay it.

That is just principle, not counting interest. Since the debt numbers are now growing exponentially, and resources are being depleted exponentially, well, the outcome cannot defy logical fundamental rules of this world.

But, as long as the electronic numbers in the OPs debt account keep going up, everything is good, for him, which is all he really cares about anyway.

Zazz "the winner" is a child busting your chops. He can't actually believe that the DOW at 13k or NAS at 12 year highs can really be a good thing during the worst economic depression the world has ever seen. Unless he really is that ignorant. Mathematics says that the higher the "stock markets" go, the closer to global collapse the world is. One only needs to look at Zimbabwe as an example... Ben Bernak knows this also but his "ace" in his sleeve is mutually assured destruction if the rest of the world stops accepting ponzi dollars. That is what he is betting on.

Just remember this: the higher the "stock markets" the higher inflation. The higher the inflation, the higher the costs to keep the "economy" going. One giant spiral.

Agreed, but the OP has debt credits in his account, so the laws of math and reality can be ignored, since we all know it can just keep growing forever, right?

Everything keeps growing forever and the debt never gets called in or paid, just keep adding 1,000,000,000,000 to the "plus" side of the accounts when needed and the winning continues.

Good for the Op for his .00000000000000000000001 shares of the last few trillions added to the plus side. He can now afford that cool drink and make himself out to be king of the world.

Fantasy Island, it's wonderful there.

Worst economic depression? What blend of marijuana are you smoking because it must be pretty good!!

Can you really compare now to the 30's? Not even a inkling of similarity. Each months retail, manufacturing, all the critical data go UP. Companies profits going UP. Consumer confidence going UP. Unemployment going DOWN.

It doesn't appear to be so bad on the surface because we don't have bread lines and unemployment lines in the media like we did in the 30's. No. Today everyone sits back in the comfort of their welfare bought Lazy-Boy chair and lets the unemployment checks come to them, the food stamps roll in on their SNAP debit cards and every other form of government aid electronically. So yes, to the ignorant sheep who watch Jersey Shore all day, everything seems fine and dandy.

And if you know ANYTHING about economics (which you obviously don't) you would know that retail "sales" are a function of amounts in dollar terms. Which means to the finance impaired like yourself that if we have even the slightest whiff of inflation (which we do at 11% YoY) retail sales will ALWAYS go up so long as the inflation rate outpaces the decline in actual number of ITEMS purchased.

I won't even comment on the unemployment rate because if you believe that you're helpless.

So my final thought on this thread (I wrote this response to the sincere readers who have no clue what is going on. I didn't write it to flatter your thirst for companionship or "winning" ego) ----- the "stock markets" will go up forever, essentially til the global economy collapses which on a math timeline is within 2 years at 90% probability.

You will cheer the ponzi along all the way as the Dow reaches 50k thinking that it must mean prosperity when in reality it will mean the financial world is ever closer to total financial collapse and the elites will have already headed to their bunkers. Out of the ashes we can hope lessons are learned and humans try harder the next time around.

Man you watch too much Mad Max. You really think there will be some made up apocalypse?

So what you're telling me (if I can believe it) is that all the positive earnings coming from companies, especially tech which has been on a tear, are fantasyland? All because the Fed "pumped" up markets? You can't believe that! Every single company benefitted from "Fed Pumping"? Please.

All around are examples of companies kicking ass like they have never kicked ass before.

And enough with the unemployment crap. There are jobs out there. I got laid off in late 2009 myself so I am more qualified to speak about this than you!! The only difference was I was willing to go out of my comfort zone to find anything. That's how you get back on your feet. Not by sitting around and collecting handouts for 2 years.

You get up off your ass and get into the ring!!
